A poignant example of the ruthlessness of industrial equipment.
While cutting wood with a band saw, a young individual suffered a deep severe cut on his thumb.
Fortunately for him, neither the joints nor the interphalangeal bones had suffered any serious damage; otherwise, the hand would have been rendered useless. More than an hour of precise surgery was needed to reattach the severed parts one by one: tendon sheath, connective tissues, skin and other tissues. The outcome, seen in the last video clip, is remarkable indeed.
