Sometimes you have to let your ‘Queen’ go if she becomes a ‘Quean.’

In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna explains the concept of Tamasic Charity—giving your time, money, and/or energy to those who misuse it. Such charity harms your soul rather than uplifting it. The same applies to relationships: if a partner (whether a girl or a guy) drains your dignity, peace, or purpose, staying attached is not love—it is Tamasic Charity. True love and true charity should elevate you, not destroy you. Choose wisely whom you give your time and resources to.”

Tamasic Charity (Charity in Darkness)

Definition: Done at the wrong place, wrong time, to unworthy recipients, without respect or care.

Motive: Ignorance, negligence, or to fuel someone’s harmful tendencies.

Examples:

Giving money to an addict knowing it will be spent on drugs/alcohol.

Supporting a toxic partner/friend who exploits you.

Donating to organizations that harm society or exploit people.

Giving without sincerity, grudgingly, or with insult.

Effect: Hurts both the giver and the receiver; damages the soul; fuels negativity.

🌞 Sattvic Charity (Charity in Light)

Definition: Given at the right time, right place, to the right person, with respect, and without expectation of return.

Motive: Pure compassion, duty (dāna dharma), and the desire to uplift others.

Examples:

Helping someone genuinely in need (education for poor children, food for the hungry).

Supporting a friend to recover from hardship in a way that builds their strength and independence.

Donating anonymously or quietly, without seeking credit.

Giving your time/energy to mentor, guide, or uplift others.

Effect: Purifies the heart, elevates the soul, and creates lasting positive impact.

Sometimes you have to let your ‘Queen’ go if she becomes a ‘Quean.’

Tamasic Charity also includes:
1. Giving money to someone knowing they will use it for alcohol, drugs, or gambling.
2. Constantly bailing out a partner/friend who is irresponsible, abusive, or manipulative, instead of helping them change.
3. Providing resources to someone capable of working or improving themselves, but who refuses to take responsibility.
4. Pouring time, love, and energy into a relationship where the other person disrespects, cheats, or exploits you.
5. Donating to or investing in causes, people, or organizations that exploit others or harm society.
6. Giving so much of yourself (emotionally, financially, physically) that it damages your health, self-respect, or spiritual growth.

See you today at 18!
There will be henna tattoos again this year 🌿✨

Henna is a natural plant-based dye used for centuries in Eastern cultures to create beautiful, temporary body art—often as part of celebrations, rituals, and self-expression. It’s a mindful, creative experience and a lovely way to connect with ancient traditions.

3 more days left! Alina Cosma will be guiding us through the yoga classes as well. We have two free yoga classes, each guided by two teachers in training.

Alina shared with us her yoga journey:
“Yoga came into my life a few years ago. Although I didn’t see myself as a flexible person, I soon realized that yoga isn’t about perfection from the start. It’s a journey where you gradually learn to calm your mind and connect with your body.

As a future yoga instructor, I hope to share the tools that guided me toward balance and helped me feel at home in my own skin.”

Geta Cristea is going to be guiding us for the yoga classes and is beautifully inviting us to meditate on our relationship with yoga.

“In my childhood I wasn’t a sports person, but later I started running out of a desire to test my physical and mental limits. Each run challenged me, but also charged me with a special energy – one that comes from connecting with others, with nature and with myself.
Along this path, I discovered yoga. At first it was just a form of stretching, but I soon understood that yoga is so much more – it is the space where the body calms down and the mind finds silence. The practice taught me to really breathe, to be present and to bring calm to the hustle around me.
For me now, yoga means balance and introspection. Together with running, the two create a beautiful balance between movement and stillness, between the outside and the inside.
I invite you to discover what yoga can do for you – it might be more than you think. A space of peace, clarity and reconnection with yourself.”
