Constanta, the greatest harbor at the Black Sea. It is a fact well known that most of the Romanian maritime personnel lives in Constanta, here being the harbor as well as the main teaching institutions for naval and maritime domain. Thus, it was normal that the maritime medicine will be more emphasized here, in Constanta, throughout the increased interest of the medical clinics from Constanta regarding the maritime medicine and the seafarer’s medical exams, as well as through the interest shown by the foreign ship-owners in what concerns Constanta harbor and Romanian seafarers. And so, the need for development of the maritime medicine in Constanta appeared.

If maritime safety has seen significant development in recent years in Europe, maritime medicine has not had the same success. International fleet development and the emergence of multi-ethnic crews has increased the risks of occupational stress, work accidents, risk outbreaks, insomnia etc. Together with the advent of tele-diagnostic systems, it appears imperative, to harmonize the practice in maritime medicine.

At the core of our efforts is the desire to act according to the principles of ILO (International Labor Organization) - MLC 2006 (Convention for MLC) and IMO (International Maritime Organization) - STCW 2011.

We are members of IMHA (International Association of Maritime Health), an international organization of maritime medicine physicians who have decided to promote scientifically and to increase the health quality of seafarers, to achieve a common goal - maintaining safety and life at sea.

ALERTĂ cu BOMBĂ în Franța - O parte din Champs Elysees, ÎNCHIS

Poliţia franceză a închis duminică o parte din bulevardul parizian Champs Elysees pentru a verifica un vehicul în care se credea că ar fi fost pus un dispozitiv exploziv, informează news.ro.
Un fotograf al agenţiei Reuters a transmis că poliţia a restricţionat accesul pe o porţiune de 150 de metri a celui mai aglomerat bulevard al Parisului.

Informatii importante despre diabet!
In 2014 prevalenta globala a diabetului zaharat * a fost estimata la 9% in randul adultilor in varsta de peste 18 ani.
In 2012, un procent estimat de 1,5 milioane de decese au fost cauzate direct de diabet.
Mai mult de 80 % din decesele cauzate de diabetul zaharat apar in tarile cu venituri medii si joase.
OMS previzioneaza ca diabetul va fi a 7-a cauza de deces in anul 2030.
O dieta sanatoasa, activitatea fizica regulata, mentinerea unei greutati corporale normale si evitarea consumului de tutun pot preveni sau intarzia instalarea diabetului de tip 2.

Venice is Restricting access to Giant Cruise Ships
Italy’s transport minister announced that Venice will ban all cruise ships from entering the city center. The announcement comes after years of anti-tourism protests and petitions.However, this doesn’t mean that cruise ship passengers won’t be able to see the city any more. They’ll just have to get to it a bit differently.

The announcement comes after years of anti-tourism protests and petitions.However, this doesn’t mean that cruise ship passengers won’t be able to see the city any more. They’ll just have to get to it a bit differently.
All ships weighing more than 55,000 tons will no longer have access to Giudecca Canal, which cuts through the city next to the historic St. Mark’s Square.Large ships will instead have to dock at Marghera, an industrial port of the historic city center. The government hopes to implement the new route within 4 years.Earlier this year, the city banned new hotels in the historic center and limited the number of restaurants that could sell pizza by the slice, kebab or other fast food.
The government is also promoting attractions in lesser-visited parts of town, implementing a “locals first” policy on water taxis and installing people-counters at the most popular tourist attractions.
