Tomorrow, May 21st marks International Tea Day 🍵⠀

Tea is the world's most-consumed drink, after water. Its production and processing constitute a main source of livelihoods for millions of families. The tea industry provides jobs and plays a central role in rural development. As the UN reminds us: "Tea production and processing contribute to the reduction of extreme poverty (SDG 1), the fight against hunger (SDG 2), the empowerment of women (SDG 5) and the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems (SDG 15)".⠀
Women constitute more than 50% of the workforce on tea plantations and often do not have access to education.⠀
