We’ve got some exciting updates!
The Central Municipal Clinical Hospital of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, together with the Municipal Hospital of Sighetu Marmației, has taken another step forward in the implementation of the international project “HealthGuard: Cross-Border Partnership for Better Infectious Disease Management and Emergency Medical Response.”
On June 18, we presented the project in Ivano-Frankivsk. We were glad to welcome our partners from Sighetu, as well as the Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, and Oksana Shyichuk, representative of the branch office of the Interreg VI-A NEXT HUSKROUA programme.
Total budget: €2,328,580
Project implementation period: January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2026
The main partner, the Central Municipal Clinical Hospital of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, will use its share of the budget to reconstruct one of the hospital buildings.
The Municipal Hospital of Sighetu Marmației will purchase modern medical equipment under the project, which will improve the quality of diagnostics and treatment.
The HGuard project is aimed at strengthening cross-border public health security and enhancing infectious disease control in the HUSKROUA region.
“This is already the 19th project involving our city,” said Ruslan Martsinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk. “Support from our European partners is extremely important for us, as it enables the development of Ivano-Frankivsk. The healthcare sector is one of the top priorities, as it directly affects the lives and health of our residents and visitors.”
Taras Maslyak, Director of the Central Municipal Clinical Hospital of Ivano-Frankivsk, noted that in addition to Romania, the hospital also cooperates with medical institutions in Italy, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Japan.
“This project allows us to expand and improve our facilities so that we can more effectively control the spread of infectious diseases in the cross-border region, provide faster emergency medical care, and deliver higher-quality treatment to our patients,” said Taras Maslyak.
Since 2017, the Central Municipal Clinical Hospital and the Municipal Hospital of Sighetu Marmației have implemented several international projects together.
“This is already the third project we are implementing with Ivano-Frankivsk CMCH. Besides these European initiatives, we also closely collaborate, share experiences, and organize training sessions for doctors and nurses,” said Monica Dinu, Project Coordinator of the Municipal Hospital of Sighetu Marmației.
We are currently waiting for the completion of all tender procedures and hope to start the necessary reconstruction work in July.
