One of the biggest mistakes I made for many years at the beginning of my self-discovery journey was not truly internalising Guruji’s discourses.

What do I mean by that?

Guruji, as a Source of Energy, perceives each soul deeply — the needs, the struggles, the flaws, but also the potential and the destiny.

Everything that Guruji shares has direct applicability within us.

Each discourse is, in truth, a mirror. A narration about you — about who you are now and who you have the potential to become.

And when you turn your attention inward, Guruji’s words become a source of awareness, clarity, and conscious direction.

His Holiness’s discourses are not just information. They are living knowledge. They are filled with wisdom, they nourish the soul, energise the mind, and instil self-confidence and the courage to make real changes.

Being in Guruji’s presence is a profound soul recharge — a sincere joy.

We have the blessed opportunity to listen to Him. It’s important that we receive it with our whole heart.

This Sunday, 20th July, starting at 16:30, we have the chance to attend Guruji’s discourse on the occasion of Guru Poornima.

In our Ashram today we celebrate Guru Purnima.

It is an important celebration in which we offer our gratitude, in which we surrender the ego, desires, absolutely everything, to the Creator, to God, who in the science of Nirvana Yoga is called Aadi ShunyaBalaShakti - the primordial vacuum energy from which everything evolved.

Guru, the Enlightened Master Guru Bodhisatvan Madhavacharyan, the founder of Nirvana Yoga, has reached the highest state of spirituality and is the Source of energy.

Thus, Guruji, from this supreme state of consciousness, offers us knowledge about ourselves, about the Creator, about the universe, about the secrets that govern this world.

Through the Nirvana Yoga system, Guruji has offered all of us a chance and a path to free ourselves from the inner negativity that keeps us prisoners in a level of consciousness that allows us to think negatively, to act selfishly, and to destroy (ourselves).

Through yoga, pranayama, meditation and Araiki, any of us, each one of us has this opportunity to go within, to awaken spiritually, to begin to discern between positive and negative.

Through practice, through surrendering the ego, through a positive lifestyle, we come to regain and enhance our physical, mental, and spiritual health.

There is much advice and there is much knowledge that I have received from Guruji, which changed my life and helped me in the most difficult moments, but for me now what echoes in my mind is Guruji’s advice that each of us must save ourselves.

Through effort, sacrifice, learning about self, practices, proper relaxation, much laughter, quality friends, respect for our parents, through always doing our duty perfectly.

Guru’s path is not always easy, because the inner obstacles will always act against us, what is negative in us will always try to pull us back, but with the help of the right tools we (the souls) can become strong and we can win this inner battle with our mind.

Today on Guru Purnima Day, I offer Guruji all my gratitude for the unconditional support of a father, mother, and guide that he has given me throughout the years.

And I pray for transformation for the better in this world for every atom of creation.
There is nothing more beautiful, more interesting than this inner journey.

Something I clearly remember since I was a child:
My mom never liked noise. Loud music, background chatter—even the radio during a car ride felt too much for her.

As a kid, it felt strange. I couldn’t understand why silence mattered so much.

But now? After diving into recent neuroscience research, it all makes sense.

In fact, we just came across a powerful study that reveals how constant noise and crowded environments actually damage the brain. We instantly connected this with the deep wisdom of Nirvana Yoga—a system that offers tools to calm, repair, and rewire the mind and body from the inside out.

So here’s what we discovered:

1️⃣ Our Brain Is Always Listening – Even When We Aren’t
Your brain constantly scans sounds—asking:
→ Where’s that coming from?
→ Is it a threat?
→ Do I need to respond?

This happens even when you’re not paying attention, like in traffic or at a noisy cafe.
➡️ Result: Mental fatigue builds silently.

2️⃣ Noise Steals Your Mental Energy
To focus in a noisy world, the brain has to filter out the useless sounds.
But this burns through the energy you’d otherwise use for:
→ Focus
→ Memory
→ Emotional regulation

➡️ Result: You feel tired, distracted, or irritated—without knowing why.

3️⃣ Noise Lowers Intelligence & Decision-Making
Long-term noise affects the prefrontal cortex—the centre of logic, planning, and decision-making.
Research shows it even lowers IQ in children and weakens clarity in adults.

➡️ Result: You may struggle to think clearly, stay calm, or act with confidence.

4️⃣ Chronic Noise = Chronic Stress
Loud environments activate the amygdala, the fear centre of the brain. This increases:
→ Cortisol (stress hormone)
→ Adrenaline (fight-or-flight mode)

➡️ Result: You stay in low-grade stress mode, leading to poor sleep, anxiety, or burnout.

💡 So What Can We Do?

We turn to what the science of Nirvana Yoga has been teaching for decades:

🌬️ 5️⃣ Breathe, and Reset the Nervous System
Conscious breathing activates your parasympathetic system—rest, digest, and repair.
It lowers stress hormones and brings your focus inward.

➡️ Result: Calmness, mental clarity, and nervous system healing.

🧘‍♀️ 6️⃣ Meditate to Rewire Your Brain
This is neuroplasticity in action.
Meditation increases grey matter in the memory and thinking regions. It also reduces overthinking.

A 2013 study found that 2 hours of silence daily helps your brain grow new cells in the hippocampus (memory & emotion regulation).

Why Healthy Food Can Lower Stress – But Will Never Eliminate It

Imagine your body is a car. Your nervous system is the engine, your breath is the fuel, and stress is the accelerator pedal that’s been pressed too long.

Now imagine that certain foods act like brake fluid and motor oil — they help slow things down, smooth the ride, and prevent the system from overheating.

This is what science shows us:
Eating nutrient-rich foods like leafy greens, avocados, whole grains, fermented vegetables, and oily fish helps your body regulate cortisol (the stress hormone), boost feel-good chemicals like serotonin, reduce chronic inflammation, and support the gut-brain connection.

For example:
– Magnesium calms your nervous system and prevents cortisol spikes.
– B vitamins fuel neurotransmitters that help your brain stay balanced.
– Omega-3s and antioxidants reduce inflammation that can amplify anxiety.
– Probiotic-rich foods restore harmony in the gut — which produces most of your serotonin.

So yes — your food choices deeply affect how your body handles stress.

But here’s the truth:
👉 A healthy diet is not enough to eliminate stress.

Why?
Because stress is not born in the body. It is born in the mind.

This is something that our beloved Master, Guru Bodhisattva Madhavacharyan, teaches with great clarity:
The mind is energy. And stress is born out from that energy.

You can nourish your physical body with the best foods. You can sleep well, take supplements, and avoid caffeine.

But unless you address the energetic source of stress — the root of which is in the mind — you will continue to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted.
