Your Heart’s Secret: It Has Its Own Nervous System

Researchers have discovered that the heart has its own complex nervous system, often referred to as a "mini-brain," capable of regulating its rhythm independently from the brain.

This system includes specialized neurons, some with pacemaker properties, challenging the long-held belief that the heartbeat is solely controlled by the autonomic nervous system.

Using zebrafish, which have cardiac functions similar to humans, scientists mapped this neural network and revealed its crucial role in maintaining heart rhythm.

Movement 1 Name - Pressing Two Hands Towards Heaven TCM - This movement opens up the Sanjiao or Triple warmer meridian. The Sanjiao is a yang meridian and runs up the back of the arm to the head from the corner of the nail bed of the ring finger (closest to the little finger), to the side of the eye, just under the tip of the eyebrow. The movements benefit the internal organs of the Triple Warmer –Upper Warmer- Heart & Lung, Middle Warmer- Stomach & Spleen, Lower WarmerLiver & Kidneys Key points - Imagine the energy of the air, sky and the Heavens filling your lungs and whole being. When moving your hands down imagine moving energy from the Heavens, head and lungs, down the front of your body into your dantien. Breathe in as the palms face up and as you rotate the palms begin to breathe out. Pay attention to the ring finger – this is where the meridian begins – as you push up and extend it. It was once thought that plant-based foods had to be eaten together, also called protein combining, in order to meet your protein needs. Still, research suggests that as long as the diet contains a variety of grains, legumes, vegetables, and other plant sources, protein needs are easily met.

Eight Week Vegan Diet Lowers Biological Age

A new study found that an eight-week vegan diet can lower biological age estimates based on DNA methylation levels.

The study, which included 21 pairs of adult identical twins, showed that those on a vegan diet experienced reductions in biological age and improvements in heart, hormone, liver, inflammatory, and metabolic systems.

Participants on an omnivorous diet did not see these benefits.

Researchers note that weight loss differences might have influenced the results, highlighting the need for further research on diet and aging.
