sharp iron tips.
standing guard over ruins.
what once was whole… now charred, cracked, collapsed.
and still — we build fences.
high ones. hard ones.
because once something precious burns,
we’ll do anything to keep it from happening again.
how do you protect the places that have been scorched.
how do you armor your heart,
even when no one's trying to hurt it anymore.
wounds can teach us.
but they can also trick us —
into thinking we’re safer alone,
behind gates forged from fear.
but healing…
healing asks something gentler.
it asks us to open,
just a little.
to let breath in where only ashes lived.
