No More Isolation Upon Entry Into Russian Federation

Since July 15th Russia removes compulsory two week isolation regime for those who enter the territory of Russia. Instead, travelers will need to have a paper certifying that they have a negative test result for coronavirus. If there is no such document, a traveler will be given 3 days to pass this test. These new conditions are indicated in a new resolution signed by Anna Popova, Russian chief public health doctor.

“To foreign citizens: upon crossing the state border of the Russian Federation, inform officials carrying out sanitary and epidemiological control about the absence of COVID-19 disease by provision of a medical document (in Russian or English) confirming the negative result of a laboratory study of the material for COVID-19 by polymerase chain reactions (PCR), collected not earlier than three days before arrival in the Russian Federation, medical documents confirming immunoglobulin G(IgG) antibodies (if any), ”- source Official Internet portal of legal information.

Can You Get Coronavirus From Your Pet?

Coronavirus infections have long been known with various animals and are host-dependent diseases: for example, a dog cannot be infected by a cat, and vice versa. The type of coronavirus that triggered the current pandemic (its full name is SARS-CoV-2) in humans belongs to the same group. At the moment, there is no exact information on how this happened, but it is assumed that SARS-CoV-2 is a new type of virus that has mutated in an animal’s body and thus has gained ability to infect humans.

There is evidence of experimental infecting animals with Covid-19 in vitro by artificial means in order to study the virus. In these studies, it was found that cats are the least resistant to Covid-19, and in dogs it hardly survives. At the same time, there is no data confirming the transmission of the virus in the opposite direction, to humans.

At the moment, the only likely way to get the infection from an animal is external. For example, if an animal is stroked by a person who is already infected with coronavirus, and you stroked it after it. Or another way – if a dog brings particles of the virus on its paws from the street. To avoid this, it is important to wash the animal thoroughly after a walk and do not let strangers touch it. Well-known preventive measures are still important to everyone: thorough hand washing and the use of skin antiseptics.

In general, you should not avoid communicating with your pets during pandemic, especially since their impact on mental health in isolation is beyond value. Follow basic precautions, take care of yourself and your loved ones!

Delegation Of Chinese COVID-19 Experts Visited MEDSI Clinical Hospital In Otradnoye

What We Know About Coronavirus Now: Facts Only

1. Most people infected with the virus (80%) have it in a mild form and recover.
2. The vast majority of infected sooner or later begin to manifest symptoms of the disease. Cases where a virus was detected in people who did not experience symptoms are rare - most of the people become ill in a couple of days.
3. Runny nose is not a symptom of coronavirus.
4. The most common symptoms are fever (87.9%) and dry cough (67.7%).
