Nail shape usually comes down to personal preference, but if youโ€™re someone whose tips are constantly breaking, you may want to choose more strategically.

After talking to several nail techs, the consensus is in: The best shape for those of us with weakened tips is...squoval. That is, a square tip with rounded edges (like an oval).

What makes squoval shapes better for weak nails? A straighter edge across the top reinforces your nails (whereas a strictly pointy one is more likely to catch on things and break). Also, by rounding off just the corners, itโ€™ll smooth out any sharp edges (again, to prevent any snags) and will visually elongate the appearance of your nails. Win-win.

And if youโ€™re really noticing a lot of breakage or chipping lately, weโ€™d suggest taking a break from gels and conventional polishes and swapping in a treatment polish instead. These conditioning formulas offer extra reinforcement and come in tons of trendy shades.

Mango Chia Pudding ๐Ÿฅญ

Ingredients
2 tbs white chia seeds
ยฝ cup fresh orange juice
2 mangoes
1 tsp grated lime rind and 1ยฝ tbs juice
1 cup coconut yoghurt
mint leaves, to serve
Method
1. Place chia seeds and juice into a small bowl. Stir to combine and set aside for 10 minutes or until thickened.

2. Meanwhile, cut cheeks from mangoes. Trim remaining flesh from around the stone. Using a large spoon, scoop flesh from skins, reserving 1 cheek. Place remainder into a small food processor. Add lime rind and juice and process until smooth.

3. Add chia mixture and process in bursts to combine. Spoon into serving glasses and top with yoghurt. Slice reserved mango and place on top of yoghurt. To serve, top with mint leaves.

tip:

Place mint leaves in one hand and gently smack with the other to extract the oils and release the flavour.
