BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS!! BREAKING NEWS!!!

On behalf of my humble self and Nigerian community Russia, with great sincerity, I extend my warmest congratulations to our Russian brothers and sisters on the celebration of 77 anniversary of the Great Patriotic war.
The victory day celebration in Russia is the celebration of the unrivalled heroism of the great Russian people in defending the freedom of their homeland thereby saving the world from Fascist aggression.
The Nigerian community Russia joins the Russians to honour the heroes and heroines who fought the fascist invaders on the battlefield to defend humanity from the deadly monster of fascism. It is our common duty to cherish the memories of their feats and countless sacrifices.
The sacrifices they made demands that we reflect, ponder, and learn from that ugly experience.
Their selflessness at the darkest of time has set them apart for eternity in the world and consciousness.
To all the Russians who died during this unfortunate war, we as nations of the world owe you a debt of gratitude. They believed in humanity over themselves. Their sacrifice must not be forgotten. We as humans and Russians must ensure that our children and future generations unborn also do not forget. Therefore we must keep the history alive, we must keep the story alive especially now that there is an effort and attempt from certain quarters to rewrite the history of the Great Patriotic war. These Russian men and women, the heroes and heroines gave everything they had, not for glory, not even for gratitude but something greater than themselves. We can neither bring them back nor erase the pains of their families and friends. As people, we must remain dependable and worthy of their sacrifice.
Nigerian Community Russia wishes to deeply convey words of sincere gratitude to all our highly esteemed veterans of the Great Patriotic War, wishing them love, happiness, good health, peace and prosperity.

HAPPY EID MUBARAK!

On behalf of my humble self, execs and Nigerian community Russia, with great sincerity, I extend greetings to all our Muslim brothers and sisters on the celebration of Eid Mubarak. Nigerian community Russia is aware that Eid Mubarak is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is a great opportunity for our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Nigerian community of Russia to purify their minds, body, heart, and soul by fasting and praying for almighty Allah. For them, Eid Mubarak is not only for fasting but also to dedicate themselves to self-sacrifice like abstain from eating food, taking a drink and physical needs, asking for forgiveness for their wrongdoings and devoting themselves to Allah.
This year Eid Mubarak under covid 19 pandemic might not look like other Eid Mubarak but it is our hope and belief their unwavering faith remain the same and unshaken and that they will be more committed and feel more attentive to fulfil all the religious obligations of this Eid Mubarak 2021.
The spiritual and joyous event and centuries-long Eid Mubarak celebration traditions will provide the support each of them needs.
Eid Mubarak is a symbol of purification, sacrifice, forgiveness, devotion to Allah and continuity of life.
May Allah in his infinite mercy bless and protect our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Nigerian community of Russia from sins. May peace, joy, and hope be filled with them and their loved ones.
Have a blessed and happy Eid Mubarak..

ATTENTION! ATTENTION!! ATTENTION!!!.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE NIGERIAN COMMUNITY RUSSIA.

We the members of the Nigerian community Russia are dismayed, alarmed and shocked seeing the video clip that has gone viral on the statement of the deputy speaker of the house of representatives Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase which is a threat and danger to all Nigerians residing abroad.
Equally incredible it sounds that no other member of the green chamber called the deputy speaker to order on the uninformed and unguarded statement which is ultimately a violation of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which safeguards the rights and privileges of all Nigerians regardless of their country of residence. It is disgraceful and very shameful that such statements which is an outright display of lack of knowledge, ignorance and incompetence could come from the quarters that suppose to know better. Very sad indeed. With this type of ignominy and opprobrium coming from someone in such a leadership position, you might not need further explanation as to why as a country we are in a total mess today. It is not far from the truth that if you want to destroy a nation sometimes you do not need bombs, and guns, you only need to put incompetent and ignorant people in a leadership position. It is indeed very dishonorable, disreputable and unrespectable of the green chamber.

Nigeria Temporary Passport: Nigeria Immigration Service new e-passport to replace paper-based Emergency Travel Certificate (ETC).

Today signifies the launch of the new ICAO-Complaint Nigerian Temporary Passport (NTP). The NTP is a travel document designed for a one-way trip to Nigeria only.

The NTP 4-page booklet will now replace the unstandardized Emergency Travel Certificate (ETC).

Speaking at the event in Abuja, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, explained that the Temporary Passport was an electronic document with all the features of a regular passport.
According to Aregbesola, the difference is that it is temporary and valid for one trip, and will be retrieved from the user at the entry point.

"The Temporary Passport is ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) compliant and is valid for only 30 days.

"It is a replacement for the hitherto Emergency Travel Certificate (ETC) which was issued to Nigerians in emergency situations where their Passports were not available and had the need to travel to Nigeria.

"This new document is not a replacement for the Nigerian Passport; it will only serve a temporary purpose in the case of loss or misplacement of the Nigerian Passport by a Nigerian abroad.

"In the light of the present security challenges faced by the country, the Temporary Passport will no doubt help to checkmate the excess of criminal elements that takes advantage of the ETC to infiltrate the country," he said.

The minister further assured Nigerians having difficulties with obtaining the Nigerian passport that the challenge would soon end.

"We are putting measures in place that will make it very easy to obtain the passport, once they come to fruition," he said.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, commended the Federal Government for the initiative, stating that it was a step in the right direction.

Onyeama, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr Gabriel Aduda, stated that oftentimes when there were issues with passport and travels, Nigerians tended to point accusing fingers at the ministry.

He added that with the temporary passport, there would be an organised, serialised and verifiable system of issuing the temporary document.

"This is a commendable achievement not just to the Nigerian Immigration Service but the country as a whole," he said.

The Comptroller-General of NIS, Mr Muhammad Babandede, said that the temporary passport would be valid for 30 days from the day of issuance, adding that once you arrived in the country you cannot travel back with it.

"Embassies have been complaining to us on our temporary passport which does not have a database of biometric features. This, however, has been a huge security threat to us and the host country.

"The temporary passport is a document with blue colour and contains four pages which have passport photograph inside.

"It has enhanced our data system that means, it is connected to our data page and there is an end to end connectivity with what is captured and what is in our data page," he said.

FELICITATION! FELICITATION!! FELICITATION!!!
There is nothing more difficult and yet more gratifying in our society than living with sincerity and acting from a place of large-heartedness continually bending towards humanity's growth and betterment.
Bearing this in mind, on behalf of the Nigerian Community Russia and all the members of the executive, as the president Dr Maurice Okoli, I wish to join millions of your friends, fans, supporters and admirers to celebrate your excellency President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan. A man of destiny.
The president that made it known to all Nigerians that his ambition does not worth the blood of any Nigerian.
This golden statement from our dear president is not a theory operating in a vacuum. It is in practice. It is a matter of survival of Nigeria as a nation. It is a matter of making very difficult decisions.
In our interior experience as individuals, as in the public forum of our shared experience as people and culture, our courage lives in the same room as our fear. It is in troubled times, in despairing times that we find out who we are and what we're capable of. To allow power to slip out of his hands when he can hold it with little or no consequences is the height of courage. For this single act of courage, the Nigerian community of Russia appreciates you and will continue with that.
We thank the almighty God for your life and all your achievements. We pray to God to keep you in excellent health and a sound mind as we hope that the almighty God has not finished with you yet.
You did not visit Russia as the president of Nigeria and now the Nigerian community Russia is extending an invitation to you to visit Russia as the leader of global peace.
As the president of the Nigerian community Russia, I want to use this opportunity on your birthday celebration to say that, in the battle for the survival of Nigeria as a nation, there is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, and no room for fear.
The greatest gift the almighty God gave Nigeria is the human capital, but the system we have today in Nigeria has turned that human capital into organized and unorganized criminals involved in different kind crimes.
The result is what we have today as our country. One of the worst places to live in this world. The poverty capital of the world.
At the Centre of the problems facing Nigeria is the system and at the heart of that system is the Nigerian constitution. The current constitution should be replaced with the constitution that grants maximum autonomy to all the major ethnic nationalities and regions in Nigeria as it is obtainable in all well-structured countries of the world.
Russia and China experienced similar problems as Nigeria is experiencing today. The population of Russia is about 145 million with 190 ethnic nationalities. 81% of the population are ethnic Russians and 19% are other ethnic nationalities. They solve their problem by partitioning their country into 84 administrative regions along ethnic nationalities and regions. Each region has its constitution, national anthem, flag, coat of arms, parliament, and a governor. They all have maximum autonomy. Tuva with its capital Kyzyl is the smallest of all the regions with a population of 307 000. Christianity, Islam and Buddhism are the three major religions in Russia and they exist in total harmony with each other. The largest and the most beautiful mosque in Europe is in Russia. If Russia could understand that freedom to other regions and nationalities no matter how small their population might be is the foundation for love, cohesion, peace and progress for national development, why cannot Nigeria learn from the Russian experience?
The population of China is about 1,94 billion, with 55 ethnic nationalities officially. 90% of the population are Hans ethnic nationality and the other ethnic nationalities constitute only 10%. They solve their problem by granting maximum autonomy to five major ethnic nationalities and regions in China. They are Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Ningxia, and Xinjiang. They are the five autonomous regions of China free from external interference in all their major affairs. Inner Mongolia uses its local language from primary to university education. If China could understand that freedom to other nationalities and regions is the foundation for love, cohesion, peace, progress for national development, Nigeria should learn from the Chinese experience.
I used these two great countries, Russia and China. In as much as some people might think that they are not fully democratic, but the leaders understand the importance of autonomy to other nationalities and regions as a foundation for love, cohesion, peace, and progress for national development.
No one human being is good enough to decide how another human being should live and there is no group of people good enough to decide how other groups of people should live.
We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality and whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.
Nigeria as a country has to understand this if we want love, cohesion, peace, and progress for national development.
Once again, we wish you love and happiness as you celebrate your birthday. May the almighty God in his infinite mercy and grace protect and bless you and your family.
Dr Maurice Okoli.

FELICITATION! FELICITATION!! FELICITATION!!!

On behalf of the Nigerian community Russia and the members of the executive, the president of the Nigerian community Russia, Dr Maurice Okoli joins millions of your admirers to celebrate Your Excellency the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin as you turned 68.
You are one of God's greatest gifts to the Russian Federation. You appeared on the stage at the most difficult time for Russia, at the time when Russia as a country was under a colossal transition, chaos, turmoil, and multi-facet crisis. The speedy and the dangerous drifting to the edge of the cliff was eminent.
Your emergence on the stage reverted everything to the right channel and with all humility, I respectively argue Russians not to forget where the country was herding to then (total despair and destruction) and where the country is herding today (Hope, peace, and prosperity).
As the president of the Russian Federation you live, work, and breathe Russia 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. You are the greatest patriot to motherland Russia.
Despite the propaganda and misinformation, the world understands and knows your true worth in all honesty. You are indeed one of the greatest personalities in the world today.
Your place in the history of Russia and that of the world will be written in gold.
May the almighty God in his infinite mercy and grace continue to guide and strengthen you as you pilot the affairs of Russia and that of the world.
As you celebrate your birthday, with all our hearts, we wish you good health, love, and happiness.

Dear Fellow Nigerians in Russia,Becoming the president of the Nigerian community Russia gives me a great exhilaration to...
02/10/2020

Dear Fellow Nigerians in Russia,
Becoming the president of the Nigerian community Russia gives me a great exhilaration to greet all Nigerians in Russia on this day of our 60 independence anniversary.
Independence day is a social, cultural, and historical festival. 60 years ago Nigeria got her independence from Great Britain. Since then until today, we have been celebrating 1 October as our independence day every year.
The identity of being an independent country, free from the insult of being governed by an external power, where the sovereign power of deciding our destiny rests with us, brings about a huge responsibility on all of us.
Let us salute today the people, who fought for the independence of the country and we will be failing in our responsibility as citizens of an independent nation if we do not dedicate ourselves to the service of this great nation Nigeria.
The celebration of independence this year in Russia by the Nigerian community as decided by the exco will be rather restrained by twin factors of COVID19 and the political and economic situation in our homeland Nigeria.
The whole world is confronting a deadly virus called COVID 19 which has disrupted and continues to disrupt all activities all over the world.
Russia responded effectively and was able to put up superhuman efforts that have succeeded in containing the magnitude of the pandemic and saving a huge number of lives. This is a fit that is worth emulating by the whole world.
We the Nigerian community in Russia are highly indebted to Russian doctors, nurses, and other health workers who have been steadily and continuously at the forefront of the fight against this terrible virus. It is sad to note that some of them have lost their lives battling the pandemic. They are our heroes and they deserve high praise. They go much beyond the call of their duty to save lives and ensure essential services.
Some members of the Nigerian community Russia suffered this deadly virus but thanks be to the almighty God that in his infinite grace and mercy Nigerian Community Russia never recorded any fatality.
It is worthy of note to remember the food sharing outreach organized by NCR, ICR, ECR, OCR, and other communities in Russia to help Nigerians who were hit badly by the lockdown because of COVID19. My special thanks go out to the executives of these organizations for their wonderful initiatives that helped to save lives during the lockdown. One thing outstanding was that these organizations did not work so hard to help their members but worked for the well-being of all Nigerians in Russia irrespective of their tribe or social status. It is an eloquent testimony that all Nigerians in Russia are united and that we are one family.
Please let us join hands in sending a worthy congratulations to our great achievers who broke records in their university with a perfect GPA of 5.0. Miss Ogechukwu Ozoani is a Nigerian who just graduated from the Russian Kazan national research technological university with a perfect GPA of 5.0. She has been awarded a scholarship for MSc and Ph.D. in Nuclear Science. Dr. Chudubem Obi Gerald is a Nigerian and the first African ever to have graduated with G P 5.0 in the famous and the oldest Sechenov medical university in Russia.
Nigerian Community Russia is rather restrained from the celebration because of COVID 19. I would also like to use the opportunity to meditate on the social, economic, and political situation in our homeland Nigeria. We should not pretend, all is not well in our country.
Nigeria as a country is drifting and it is drifting dangerously to the edge of the cliff. There should be a sense of urgency on measures to arrest the situation. On 1 October 2020 Nigeria will be 60 years old as an independent state. Do we have reasons to celebrate? Do we have something to showcase with pride? The fanfare that greeted our country’s independence in 1960 demonstrated citizen's hope and aspiration on the prospect of self-governance and economic development. But 60 years the hope appears in a pitiable state of distress. Where are we as a country in the leadership index, national unity index, and economic development index? Where we are today in the above indices gives me a course to worry about the viable future of our country Nigeria.
It is still not too late for Nigeria to correct its course and pursue the leadership style and economic development agenda that will lift the masses out of crippling poverty and make them live in harmony with each other. We as people should put aside our differences and collaborate to save the country. We need to arise above all man-made differences, prejudices, and barriers. Compassion and mutual help to each other should be the order of the day. Only then can we create a better future for all of us.
We were elected into the office on 25 July 2020. We are honored to be considered and we accepted our election as a call to duty and service. I and my dedicated team of talented and varied expertise aim to work closely with you and other organizations to continually protect and project the best interest of all Nigerians in Russia and we will count on your valued co-operation to actualize this. We have taken on many reforms that are yielding wonderful results.
In the spirit of transparency and accountability, from 1 October 2020 any financial member of Nigerian Community Russia has the full right to request for the financial report of NCR from the financial secretary and it will be emailed to the person immediately.
I am aware of the huge expenses Nigerians in Russia are forced to make when an unexpected illness strikes. We are working on rolling out cheap medical insurance and medical services for all Nigerians in Russia irrespective of your legal status. Health is wealth. Together with your support and patience, we can make it possible.
I am also aware of the untold hardship Nigerians have suffered because of their telephones being taken away while at the Embassy for consular matters. I will advise all Nigerians in Russia to calm down as my humble self and the VP of NCR have opened discussions with the Embassy on this issue that has brought severe inconvenience to so many Nigerians.
On this final note, I once again congratulate all Nigerians in Russia on the independence day and to most sincerely thank you and wish you a happy independence anniversary.
May the almighty God in his infinite mercy and grace bless you all and bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
