In August 2022, CCX-B™ was used to repair a damaged section of a concrete irrigation canal in the Akhaltshikhe Municipality, a remote and mountainous region in southern Georgia. Installed only 2 years previously, the pre-cast channel had sustained severe cracking damage due to the harsh local conditions, where temperatures seasonally fluctuate between -20°C and +35°C.

Concrete Canvas® products deliver a cost-effective and long-lasting repair solution in cases like this, dramatically extending the service life of irrigation infrastructure, with no requirement to dismantle existing assets. Any channel lined with CC™ will have vastly superior hydraulic performance in all conditions, meaning that precious water resources are conserved.

On 28th April UCC opened a new demonstration park in Tashkent to showcase Concrete Canvas's unique technology and potential to drastically reduce water loss across Uzbekistan's vast irrigation canal system. A key part of the launch event was a seminar on the properties and applications of Concrete Canvas, attended by a number of our key partners and stakeholders, including Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister for Water Resources, Akmal Mirzaev.

Thanks and kudos to our partners at the ministry's Scientific Research Institute of Irrigation and Water Problems, on whose grounds the park has been constructed: you helped make the event a great success.
