Our Mission

The mission of the Foundation is to promote health and wellbeing of Rwandese. Focus on prevention and treatment of gynecological breast and cervical cancers, prostate cancers, neurological fistulas as well as awareness of family planning, prevention of non-births desired by targeting vulnerable groups such as young girls and women with limited means. Promote the practice of sustainable and responsible agriculture in Rwanda by safeguarding of the heritage and knowledge of medicinal plants of Rwanda there by allowing people to treat themselves with these medicinal plants.

Présentation - Denis De Meyere

Je suis né en 1968 à Byumba (Gicumbi) et j’ai grandis au Rwanda jusqu’à l’âge de 12 ans. J’ai ensuite vécu en Belgique jusqu’en 2011. Depuis, je suis revenu vivre au Rwanda.

Mon père était un horticulteur Belge qui cultivait le pyrèthre au Rwanda. Et ma Maman est Rwandaise. Ma grand-mère maternelle était une guérisseuse traditionnelle Rwandaise, qui a débuté mon initiation à l’âge de 8 ans. Elle cultivait elle-même sa pharmacopée.

A partir de 2012, vu mon intérêt pour la médecine traditionnelle, ma grand-mère à continué à m’enseigner les herbes médicinales du Rwanda.

De 2012 à 2015 j’ai aussi collaboré avec divers tradi-practiciens rwandais pour approfondir mes connaissances.
