On this Mother’s Day, we pause not just to celebrate — but to reflect.
Across homes, clinics, farms, markets, and boardrooms, mothers carry more than their children. They carry communities. They carry the future.

At HASO Group, where our mission is rooted in advancing health systems and social opportunities, we are deeply aware that any conversation about health equity must begin with those who nurture life itself: mothers.
They are caregivers and counselors, decision-makers and breadwinners. Many are frontline health workers, silently holding up broken systems. Others are raising children in systems yet to be reformed. The unpaid care, the emotional labor, the resilience they summon daily — too often goes unmeasured, yet it’s the foundation of thriving societies.

One of the biggest challenges many non clinical health professionals graduates face is reintegration into the workforce after graduation despite their valuable skills and knowledge. While the WHO estimates that by 2030, the world will face a shortage of 10 million health workers, with Africa bearing the greatest burden, many highly trained graduates struggle to find their footing after completing their studies.

In Rwanda and across the region, unemployment among skilled professionals remains high—the African Development Bank reports that over 35% of graduates are unemployed, even as health systems continue to report critical workforce shortages. This disconnect highlights a gap: talented professionals eager to contribute, yet lacking structured pathways to transition into impactful roles.
