🌺 الدحنون… جمال البرية وبساطتها

الدحنون، المعروف علميًا باسم Papaver rhoeas (*Corn Poppy / Field Poppy*)، هو من أجمل الأزهار البرية التي تزيّن سهول الربيع.

بلونه الأحمر الزاهي، يزهر في الحقول والمناطق الزراعية، وينتشر في بلاد الشام، خصوصًا في Jordan وPalestine.

يرمز للجمال الطبيعي والبساطة، وأحيانًا للتضحية بسبب لونه الأحمر العميق.

رغم جماله، فهو ليس من الورد بالمعنى النباتي؛ فالورد الحقيقي ينتمي إلى جنس Rosa، وهو مختلف علميًا عن الدحنون.

حين يغطي السهول في الربيع، يتحول المشهد إلى لوحة طبيعية نابضة بالحياة 🌿

Story of Success 🌍🧠✨

A 55-year-old male presented with lower back pain and a growing mass. MRI revealed a large pelvic–lumbosacral tumor (8×7×6 cm) compressing nearby structures. After thorough discussion, we proceeded with microsurgical resection based on the patient’s trust in our team 🙏.

Using advanced tools (Kinevo microscope & SONOPET IQ), we achieved maximal safe (subtotal) resection, preserving sphincter function and avoiding a stoma —a key goal in rare tumors like chordoma.

The patient was discharged in good condition and will continue with adjuvant radiation therapy ☢️. A complex case, managed with precision, teamwork, and hope 💙

These are not just technical terms—they are core principles of surgical oncology and remain fundamental in neurosurgical tumor surgery.

Respecting anatomical planes allows precise dissection, minimizes collateral damage, and preserves function. Achieving a safe oncological margin reduces local recurrence, while en bloc resection, when feasible, limits tumor cell spillage and improves disease control.

In neurosurgical oncology, where eloquence and function matter as much as oncological control, balancing these principles with modern adjuncts—microscopy, neuro-navigation, intraoperative monitoring, and ultrasonic aspiration—is key to optimal outcomes.
