🕌 Eid al-Adha Qurbani Guide 2025. What Every Muslim Should Know! 🐑🍖
✅ WHO SHOULD DO QURBANI?
Qurbani is obligatory for Muslims who are
• Adults (Baligh)
• Sane (Aqil)
• Financially able (own wealth above basic needs, ~85g of gold in value)
One Qurbani is sufficient for the whole household, including dependents, if done with shared intention.
🐐 WHAT ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED?
Sheep/Goat - Min Age: 1 year (or 6+ months if mature)
Cow/Buffalo - Min Age: 2 years
Camel - Min Age: 5 years
Animal should be healthy, no defects (blindness, lameness, disease), should be strong, active and should not be missing teeth or limbs
⚠️ Do NOT sacrifice animals that are:
❌ Sick or weak
❌ Injured or disabled
❌ Underage or visibly underweight
📍 DOING QURBANI IN SAUDI? HERE'S WHAT TO KNOW
🚫 No home slaughter allowed (strict hygiene laws apply)
✅ Use licensed places like:
• Municipal abattoirs
• Certified apps/services like Adahi (Saudi Ministry-approved)
• Trusted charities (e.g, Saudi Red Crescent, Islamic Relief)
♻️ MEAT DISTRIBUTION – THE RIGHT WAY
Divide the meat into 3 equal parts:
1. Family and dependents
2. Friends and neighbors
3. The poor - this is essential to the spirit of Eid
📢 Make sure needy families receive good quality meat, not just leftovers.
🚫 IMPORTANT DON’TS
❌ Don’t sell Qurbani meat or skin
❌ Don’t take loans or go into debt just to perform Qurbani
❌ Don’t use unlicensed vendors or questionable farms
