If you use your "reliever" more than 3 x a week, you must be on a "preventer" to reduce the inflammation in the airways.

Relievers such as salbutamol do NOT treat asthma, they relieve the acute airways closure.

Preventers (inhaled steroids) reduce inflammation to increase airway opening long term.

Asthma + Lung UK says more needs to be done to prevent the overuse of inhalers.

DENGUE FEVER ALERT!
There is currently an upsurge in the number of Dengue cases locally.
Symptoms being reported:
Body and Joint Ache
Rash
Fever
Fatigue
Loss of Appetite

In most people, this is a self-limiting disease, and all we can do is manage the symptoms.

Pain and fever should be managed with paracetamol only.

Maintain adequate fluid intake and supplement immune boosting vitamins such as Vitamin C, D, Zinc and Selenium. Rest.

Please see the link. If symptoms are severe please seek urgent medical care as it may rarely be fatal.

There are always so many health myths to bedunk...
Today - Teeth Grinding [Bruxism] (grens ledan).
Despite common lore, this has nothing to do with a worm infestation. Deworming (pize) will not solve the problem.
Exercises to relax the jaw muscles before bed can help, and sleeping with a custom fitted bite guard will stop you grinding you teeth into oblivion!

Today is world Mental Health Day.

In a country where mental health care is so severely lacking, my message to anyone who is struggling is simple. You are NOT alone. There is NO SHAME in feeling anxious, lost, depressed, overwhelmed. Reach out. Talk to someone.

And if someone talks to you, but you do not understand or don't know what to say, simply "be there"...
