✨ Correlation ≠ Causation ✨
Just because two things are related doesn’t mean one causes the other.
Example: Let's say a scientist find a positive correlation between the number of people who go to Beau Vallon Beach 🌊 and shark attacks in the south of Mahé 🦈. Does that mean if we all swim at Beau Vallon, we cause more shark attacks?🤔Of course not! Many other factors would be affecting the shark attacks.
This is the danger of misinformation especially around autism.
❌ People want something to blame.
❌ Quick fixes.
❌ Spread Stigma
❌ Blame parents
…when in reality, autism is a neurodiverse condition that society still struggles to fully accept.
This is the fact: many pregnant women take Panadol. The majority of their children are not diagnosed with autism. If Panadol really “caused” autism, then 8–9 out of every 10 children would have autism which is not the case!
I urge you to stay informed. Stay open-minded. Not everything you hear is based on real data. 🤍🙏🏽
