Visiting the official home and temple of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

After China took control of Tibet in the 1950s and a major uprising broke out in 1959, the Dalai Lama and tens of thousands of Tibetans fled to India for safety.

He now lives in a private residence within this complex which also includes his temple, Namgyal Monastery and a museum.

The most memorable parts for me were meditating in the square near a lizard (which im usually terrified of) both enjoying the sun…

and walking along the Kora which is a peaceful path circling the temple used by monks and others as they chant and circumambulate (as they say) the temple.

Some monks also offered me some warm peanuts as I made my way around. A beautiful place. You can’t help but feel a deep sense of peace, stillness, compassion and tranquility here.

where do I find the words? You have changed me from deep within. I cannot thank you enough for all you have taught me. I will keep sharing Yoga with others in the most sincere way I know how.
