📍 With the increasing opportunities for participation in global academic conferences—most notably AMEE— abstract writing remains one of the main challenges facing many students. Not due to weak ideas, but rather the lack of practical training and proper guidance.

Abstract Writing Workshop
as an intensive, hands-on workshop aimed at transforming individual writing attempts into strong, clear, and conference-compliant scientific abstracts.

🌟 What will you learn in this workshop?
• What a scientific abstract is and its key role in conference acceptance.
• The core components of a scientific abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion).
• How to distinguish between a strong and a weak abstract, and common writing mistakes.
• Using academic language with clarity and precision.
• Adhering to conference guidelines (especially AMEE).
• Step-by-step practical application to write a complete abstract.
• Individual review and personalized feedback on participants’ drafts.

✨ Celebrating Learning and Collaboration: IPE Workshop ✨

Last month, SAMER Medical Education office hosted a truly inspiring Interprofessional Education (IPE) Workshop—an experience full of learning, energy, and collaboration!

The workshop was hands-on, interactive, and truly engaging. Participants were active throughout, sharing ideas, working together in groups, and applying what they learned in practical exercises and role-play scenarios. Their enthusiasm made every session lively, meaningful, and unforgettable.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Abeer Abualgasim for presenting such a thoughtful and impactful workshop. Your guidance, knowledge, and encouragement created an environment where learning felt exciting and empowering.

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive—praising the organization, content, facilitation, and teamwork. This workshop reminded us all that learning is best when we grow together, support one another, and embrace curiosity.

A month ago, SAMER Medical Education Office successfully conducted a Basic Research Methodology Workshop, marking another step toward strengthening research and medical education capacity among medical students.

The workshop focused on building a solid understanding of research fundamentals, with a strong emphasis on practical exercises that allowed participants to actively apply what they learned. This hands-on approach contributed to high levels of engagement and overall participant satisfaction.

The sessions were presented by Dr. Arwa Waleed, whose clear delivery and practical insights were highly appreciated by the participants. Feedback reflected a positive learning experience and satisfaction with both the content and the interactive structure of the workshop.

​SAMER is proud to announce the opening of its Structured Research Programs. This initiative is designed to cultivate a premier research ecosystem within the Faculty of Medicine, empowering students to bridge the gap between academic theory and high-impact scholarly output.

By this program we aim to focus on methodological excellence through the ex*****on of research under rigorous scientific protocols and ethical governance. We also emphasize capacity building by developing mastery of advanced biostatistics, critical appraisal, and academic writing. In addition, the objectives aim for global contribution by producing high-quality evidence suitable for international peer-reviewed journals. Finally, a collaborative framework is promoted through the implementation of standardized authorship guidelines and professional mentorship to support effective and ethical research collaboration.

Acceptance in these conferences is not limited to the quality of the work alone, but also depends on:
• Writing a professional scientific abstract that complies with academic standards.
• Understanding the acceptance mechanisms and submission requirements.

From here comes Launch and Lead as a starting point toward a stronger academic presence and more effective representation.
