Not everything we try lands. And thatâs okay.
Iâve been coaching leaders and professionals for over two decades now and something I witness again and again is the sheer effort that goes unseen.
The job applications that go nowhere.
The proposals that get a polite no.
The ideas that donât gain traction.
The promotions that are promised⌠then postponed.
The business dreams that feel so close and still donât land.
What we donât always talk about is how exhausting it can be to keep showing up, with confidence, with effort, with hope, especially when it feels like nothing is shifting.
And then, something clicks. The right opportunity finally lands.
But to the outside world, it looks like things just fell into place.
This is your reminder:
Most people you admire or perceive as âdoing wellâ havenât just been lucky.
Theyâve been consistent.
Theyâve kept trying, pivoting, falling forward.
Theyâve stayed in the arena, even when it was lonely, frustrating, or disheartening.
And this doesnât just happen to my clients.
Itâs happened to me too. Many times.
I had to learn (the hard way) that Iâm not going to win every gig, every time and thatâs why itâs so important to have multiple proposals, conversations, invitations and opportunities in play.
Sometimes the no just means not this one.
Sometimes it means not right now.
But it never means youâre not good enough!
So if youâre in a season of ânot yetâ, I see you.
Please donât confuse the silence for failure.
Youâre not behind. You are building the best version of you.
And if youâre starting to reach your goals, I hope you take a moment to feel super proud.
Not just of the win, but of the grit it took to get there.
Hereâs a question to sit with:
Whatâs one effort youâve made, even if no one saw it, that youâre proud of?
