Today marks the World Kidney Day(WKD). World Kidney Disease is a global health campaign held annually on every second Thursday of March. It aims to create an awareness about the importance of kidney health, reduce the impacts of kidney disease, and promote kidney health education and prevention strategies. It's a day to emphasize the significance of early detection and management of kidney disease, as well as encourage individuals to adopt healthy lifestyles to protect their kidneys.
Aside from the obvious signs and symptoms of kidney, other ways to detect kidney disease is through kidney function test, this involves series of blood and urine tests to assess how well the kidneys are functioning. These tests measures various markers such as creatinine, blood urea nitrogen(BUN), glomerular filtration rate(GFR), to evaluate kidney function and detect any anomalies or signs of kidney disease. If you're concerned about your kidney health or have risk factors for kidney disease such as hypertension, and diabetes, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional who can recommend appropriate tests and provide guidance based on individuals concern...

Hi Everyone, πŸ™‹
I am Nrs Udom, your health coach, a Nurse by profession and a Nephrology Specialist.

By the special grace of God, I have touched many lives since I embarked on the journey to make people's health my priority.

My experience for the past 7yrs as a Nurse Generalist has exposed me to so many hidden things about human health, and I can comprehend how important it is to be in good/optimum health and also appreciate the saying that 'when there's life, there's hope. But I'd rephrase it that, "when you're alive and in good health, you're unlimited"(CNO Udom, 2023).

As a Nephrologist, I've realized that there is limited awareness and knowledge of how vital the kidneys are to the overall health of people, in the sense that one with a diseased kidney is at risk of heart disease, stroke, skin problem, lungs, infact the entire system breakdown as well as the general appearance of that individual if not detected early and properly managed.

A patient on a sick bed once said and I quote," if I can return and stay in good health, every other thing is secondary". And I wish every human realizes this without having to experience illness.

This is me taking out time to officially welcome you to this page, as you will be getting relevant health information and consult on how to lead a healthy lifestyle, prevent all preventable diseases and if need be, refer to an appropriate health facility for specialist care.

Finally My Brethren, be intentional about your health because health is wealth. Do not only indulge and be addicted to watching funny comedy skits and pranks because I don't think anybody fighting for his/her in the hospital bed will be interested in watching funny videos and comedy rather than looking for all sources of help to get well.

So, while you're still in your right state of mind, read health-related books and information or post you come across, watch health-related videos and stay informed, don't scroll way life-changing/saving reels. And if you benefit or get value from the health contents I create, please do well to like, comment, ask questions where you don't understand and very importantly share to the people in your life, including those you don't know, you may stand a chance to safe life(s).

CNO Udom cares...πŸ§‘β€βš•οΈ
Thanks, and Stay tuned 🧏

A HEARTBROKEN MESSAGE FROM NURSES ⏰🚨

Before you shout at any Nurse,
REMEMBER WE:
- hold urine in our bladders just to attend to youπŸ˜₯
- develop ulcer from skipping our breakfasts/brunch and lunch just to meet up your care needsπŸ˜”

- risking our kidneys by standing for long hours without drinking water, making your health needs our priority πŸ§‘β€βš•οΈπŸ˜’

-develop stress related disorders such as Heart disease, asthma, depression, headaches, insomnia etc due to poor staffing and poor working environment.πŸ˜₯πŸ’˜

- deprive our children, husbands, siblings, parents and friends quality time just to care for you (12-24hours) daily. πŸ’˜πŸ§‘β€βš•οΈπŸ˜

- hide our tears, sorrows and anger, we put on charming smiles just to aid your recovery process😭😭.

- also needs to be cared for, a nurse will run to the restroom to take pills for headache or chronic medical conditions and yet returned with a smile to care for his or her patients.
And lots more...

Nurses are caring, courageous, competent, committed, and compassionate πŸ’•πŸ’–

Just a 'Thank you' to your Nurse will make a huge difference in the society

Please be 'Human' because Nurses still have their families to look after when they return from work, they are 'HUMANS' too πŸ’”πŸ§ πŸ«€πŸ«πŸ§‘β€βš•οΈ
