On Monday's Meditation and Joyful wellbeing class we will be focusing on Kindness. Because Kindness matters! Our Monday meditation will naturally be the wonderful Buddhist Loving Kindness Meditation aka metta meditation.
Those of you who know me, will know that I am a huge fan of random acts of kindness and have been on many a Kindness mission or RAK (Random acts of Kindness) including organising homeless kindness walks, wrapping xmas pressies with the Kindness Offensive and one year we even visited a hospital with them to distribute the gifts. We got featured on the news for that one.
Did you know being kind to others not only benefits the recipient but it benefits you as there are many beneficial side affects to being kind, Isn't that amazing.
Being Kind helps to make the world a happier place – one act of kindness can often lead to more! It's contagious, just like laughter.
An act of kindness can boost feelings of confidence, being in control, happiness and optimism. There are many more benefits, that's just some of them.
In my own experience Kindness makes me feel amazing because it is so special to witness a kind act being received. It lifts my spirits, makes me feel all warm, content and happy. I feel more gratitude. You do not need money to be kind, something as simple as a smile can change someone's day for the better.
