This , we’re thinking about who’s still not being heard.

In the UK, 6 in 10 Latin Americans experience poor mental health, but only 1 in 10 gets support.

We spoke to Tatiana from .edin who reiterated that this is due to systems that aren’t built with their experiences, languages or histories in mind.

Cultural competence isn’t optional, and if we want research and health systems that truly serve communities, we have to start by listening.

👥 Our training programme is designed to change that, helping teams plan and deliver research that actually includes communities.

📣 Starts this September.

What is intersectionality, and why does it matter in health and research?

Intersectionality helps us understand how systems of inequality overlap and impact people’s lives in complex ways.

In this post, we break it down:
Where the concept comes from, what it reveals, and how applying it can lead to better and more inclusive research.

👥 Behind every inclusive clinical trial is a community organisation making the groundwork possible.

This week, we spoke to .uk and . Both organisations are doing vital work in health equity, representation and inclusive research, and we’re proud to collaborate with them.

🗣 We asked: What’s one thing you wish researchers knew before working with community organisations? Their answers were clear: it starts with trust, respect and valuing community expertise.

At Egality, we believe researchers should learn with communities, not just about them. That’s why our new training offer helps researchers build real, respectful partnerships, all grounded in equity.

This , we’re reminded that visibility and voice still matter.

Too many people with learning disabilities face unequal access to healthcare, research, and representation, often because assumptions go unchallenged and voices go unheard.

Our new training offer is designed to help researchers engage with communities more meaningfully, including those too often left out.

🧠 Want to make your research more inclusive, impactful and human?

Diversity and inclusion in clinical trials is critical for health equity and scientific rigour. ✅

For the pharmaceutical industry, this means partnering across the health system, designing accessible trials, and delivering innovative recruitment – to engage under-served populations. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

That’s why we’re bringing together 4 experts from across the system to discuss: What the pharmaceutical industry can do, in partnership, to make trials more inclusive and effective for all. 🙌🏾
