Why are so many high-achieving women of colour burning out in silence — even when they follow all the "right" steps?

Because mental health systems too often fail to meet their cultural, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Burnout for bi-cultural women of colour isn’t just about overwork — it’s the heavy weight of sexism and racism, mixed with cultural expectations that often go unseen.

Key struggles include:
🔹 Boundary-setting feels like betrayal — putting yourself first clashes with deep-rooted values of family and community loyalty.
🔹 People-pleasing is survival — it’s more than a habit; it’s a cultural expectation to self-sacrifice for others.
🔹 Imposter syndrome runs deep — racial biases and microaggressions fuel feelings of not belonging or being ‘enough.’
