Although there is a lot more discussion around menopause, these statistics reveal that many women are still in the dark when it comes to understanding their bodies and receiving appropriate support.
Many women still struggle alone, often feeling they are losing their minds, because no one warned them about the range of symptoms or the overwhelming anxiety that often comes with hormonal shifts during menopause.
Many women fall prey to the “meno- washing”industry, out of sheer desperation, trying random supplements, fad diets or expensive “miracle cures”, wasting money and time on approaches that are not backed up by science.
Many women end up accepting their doctor’s dismissal that “it’s just aging” instead of receiving information, support and a 2-way discussion about various treatments options.
The result is that millions of women needlessly suffer through a natural transition that, with proper support, could be managed effectively. Not only would this impact their current experience of menopause, it would also lay the foundations for better future health.
