The Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgery Society is now accepting applications from medical students for our neurosurgery mentorship scheme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for medical students who are considering a career in neurosurgery. You will be placed in small groups with a mentor to advise you on the neurosurgery training pathway and how to succeed in your application to neurosurgery training. Meetings with mentors will take place regularly throughout the academic year.

This is a great way to enhance your CV and get some helpful insight into the postgraduate training system

The Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgical Society is recruiting mentors for our Neurosurgery mentorship programme.

We are an active neurosurgery society for medical students to further their interest in neurosurgery through a wide range of research initiatives and education projects. Currently we are undertaking a series of Student Led Teaching lectures, of which we have hosted 14 to date.

We are looking for doctors who are undertaking or are applying to neurosurgery training, to mentor medical students with an interest in neurosurgery. This can be done in-person or virtually at your convenience.

In this role, you will be asked to mentor a group of 8 medical students; this will take place over 5 meetings lasting 30-60 minutes throughout the academic year.

Doctors will be partnered with a medical student to provide insight into the neurosurgery training application process and on how to make a competitive applicant. In return, you will receive personalised feedback and a certificate of recognition from the Walter E. Dandy society for your portfolio, as well as priority in applying to future research initiatives run by the Walter E. Dandy Society. This is an excellent opportunity to boost your CV for training and job applications and to develop your teaching and leadership skills.
