It’s time to stop fat shaming women. In fact don’t fat shame anyone. But do recognise that obesity also affects male fertility as well. In fact male obesity can also influence a woman’s chances of having pre-eclampsia in pregnancy.

Infertility is a shared problem.

I absolutely love butter and margarines are never an option. Neither are ‘spreadable’ butters which contain other oils. But organic butter is best as the environmental chemicals that a cow is exposed to are fat soluble, so they end up in the milk fat, and butter is the ultimate fat for sure! Then they end up in us. Most major supermarkets sell organic butter.

So to keep it fresh use a butter dish and just put 1/3 pack in at a time.

Butter is a treat for me though and I try and use best quality cold pressed extra virgin olive oil most of the time.

Is there anything better than a perfect boiled egg - this is my Sunday treat - a Burford Brown egg with its rich orange yoke salt, pepper and good bread toast with LOADS of butter. Every mouthful savoured!

This is the first human study to show that babies exposed to the compounds in certain vegetables in the womb tend to be happy to eat them later! Animal studies already show this and I always tell my clients about these but this is such a brilliant advert for eating greens🥦🥬

I am not sure what I think about this really but I’m going to watch it anyway.

I find it very difficult to empathise with people who have quite a lot of children being ‘desperate’ to have another.

I see my clients suffering so so much with the desire to just be pregnant, give birth and be a mother to one child, just once would be enough for them.

I think I may get a bit of flack for saying this and I am not judging anyone who wants to have loads of children. But I am not going to do faux sympathy if it doesn’t happen!

But in terms of educating people about the devastating effects of age on fertility, and what IVF is really like, it will be excellent. Carole is a brilliant ivf doctor. And thanks to Katie Price for doing the programme as it must have been very hard.

I love this fabulous woman!

Jessie Inchaupse aka The Glucose Goddess whose two part series called Eat Smart. Secrets of The Glucose Goddess was on Ch4 last night and last Tuesday.

She just explains the facts so simply and so well, and then Dr Ruby Aujla whips up a delicious recipe to fit the information.

She is so warm and not patronising or dryly scientific and you feel real empathy with her patients, it’s very moving.

A good nutritionist or nutritional therapist will also give you that same advice, we all follow the same blood sugar control rules so why not have your own personalised consultation if you would like help.

I’m at Fertility 2025 in lovely Liverpool and meeting so many friends - like these two just gorgeous men, two of the best with what they do for raising awareness of male infertility. Their podcast is fabulous!

The great thing about this year’s conference is there is so much more focus on the man. I hope to be able to share some new info that I have learned.

But I am not sure why my hair looks canary yellow!

No porridge bashing! On the back of excellent post yesterday.

Porridge shaming is another way of putting the fact that porridge has been put on the baddies list! But what has not been made clear is that this refers to the instant flavoured pots of ‘porridge’ not the real thing.

Go for steel cut or jumbo oats and organic if possible, as oats have been found to have traces of a nasty pesticide called Glyphosate. I use Flavahans organic jumbo oats and it’s delicious and warming, with berries and seeds, keeps me going til lunch.

Winter warming turkey bone broth stock and vegetable soup with just half a Thai Green Curry frozen paste. It was absolutely delicious!

I simmered my organic turkey carcass with loads of herbs and ginger in my slow cooker for about 15 hours to make the stock which I froze. So this week was its first outing!

I simmered loads of leeks, carrots and celery, sliced ginger and garlic in olive oil with half a pot of the Ice Kitchen frozen paste
Then I added a few orange lentils just to slightly thicken it but not too many.
I added the stock, simmered it for about 15 mins then added chopped broccoli and Brussels sprouts and cooked it for just another 2 mins and added a chicken stock pot, salt and pepper.
Lastly a good blitz in my blender, into the bowl, an extra drizzle of olive oil, very healthy and it’s so filling no bread required!
