When we talk about being active after 40, it's easy to think we have to hit the gym, take up running, or dive into high-intensity workouts. But here’s a reminder: walking is one of the most underrated, yet powerful forms of exercise out there.

Here’s why walking deserves a standing ovation (and maybe a daily 30-minute slot on your calendar):

✅ Joint-friendly: Unlike running or HIIT, walking is low-impact and gentle on knees and hips.
✅ Great for heart health: Just 30 minutes a day can reduce your risk of heart disease.
✅ Mood booster: Walking—especially in nature—reduces stress and anxiety, boosts creativity, and improves sleep.
✅ Accessible to everyone: No gym, no gear, no fuss. Just step outside.
✅ Easy to build into your routine: Walk & talk meetings, after-dinner strolls, or even parking a little further away—it all adds up.

📊 Compared to other activities:

Running: great cardio, but higher injury risk, especially for beginners.
