If you are in London today and have a free Saturday come Alexander Palace - Mind Body Soul festival!
Now that lockdowns are (at least for now) behind us and the world seems more wide open than ever, people are (finally) becoming more aware of the importance of good health. During the initial stages of covid, those who were more healthy and took better care of themselves mostly benefitted from less serious illness should they happen to come down with covid. Those who did not look after themselves or were severely overweight or ill did not fare that well.
So now that the vaccine is available to all and most serious illness seems to be behind us, do we need more encouragement to take better care of ourselves?
As it happens, how well you look after yourself not only will determine how seriously ill you become if you become ill (with covid, the flu or really with any virus or bacterial infection). It also determines how well you age and how well you feel as you age. Those who take better care of themselves not only age more slowly, but they also suffer less significantly with common ageing-related disorders. Time doesn't seem to affect them as harshly. But they also feel better as well and look better too.
The most encouraging part is that all of this is in our hands. There is no better time to take care of your mind, your body and your soul than today. And to commemorate that again, I'm once again back to presenting and speaking at the Mind, Body, Soul and Yoga Show at Alexandra Palace this weekend. On Friday I'll be speaking to women at 1:15pm on the Wisdom stage about how they can take care of themselves better to have a better menopause. On Saturday I'll be speaking to both women and men at 1:45 on the Wisdom stage about how they can take care of themselves better to age better and much more slowly. And anyone that wants to ask me any questions can find me at Stand 3 near to the Wisdom stage from Friday to Sunday during the show. Please come by and say hello.
Or if you don't live near enough to Alexandra Palace or can't come by this weekend, book a free 20 minute call with me here: https://healthyageing.as.me/schedule.php
As women, menopause is an inevitable transition that we all will need to go through, with peri-menopause starting for some women as young as 38 and sometimes younger (depending on genetics and onset of first period). However, there is no rule for how this time has to be experienced and different wom...
