These are the 6 ingredients I always use when I’m making our family meals.

✨ All gut-boosting, immune-fighting, organ supporting ingredients

All my children eat these meals from my 8 month old to my 8 year old.

You will always be able to find someone who supports your growth but you will also find someone who tries to keep you small.

Someone who celebrates when you set boundaries and stick to your values but someone else who calls you “no fun” or “too serious” when you won’t compromise yourself.

Someone who respects your choices even when they don’t understand them but someone else who takes your authenticity as a personal attack on their lifestyle.

I’ve learned this the hard way. I used to think friendship meant always saying yes, going along with plans that didn’t align with who I was becoming, staying quiet when people made jokes about my “boring” choices.

The turning point came when I realised some friends only felt comfortable around me when I did what they wanted.

When I started honoring my values, setting boundaries, or choosing what felt right for me, I suddenly found friends that accepted me for me, because I accepted me too.

Here’s the truth: Real friends don’t need you to dim your light to make them comfortable. They don’t pressure you to break your own rules. They don’t guilt you for evolving. They don’t only invite you to things that require you to be a version of yourself you’ve outgrown. The friends who truly see you will either grow alongside you or cheer you on from wherever they are in their own journey. The ones who can’t handle your evolution were never really rooting for the real you anyway.

Don’t look to others to justify who you are. Find your truth and be content with that. Because then people who actually value your friendship will stick around. Your growth is not responsible for other people’s comfort zones.

FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE ADDS VALUE BY CONNECTING THE DOTS

Your body isn’t separate parts, so why does healthcare treat it that way? Well probably because it’s quicker and easier, if you just diagnose, investigate and treat one specific problem with medication, you can see someone in 10 minutes and that’s that. The problem… this isn’t a long term fix, medication isn’t a cure and half the time you’re missing the big picture so that person comes back again and again struggling to feel seen in a world of waiting times and prescriptions.

You also see a different specialist for each problem:
Thyroid specialist for fatigue
Gastroenterologist for coeliac
Rheumatologist for arthritis
Cardiologist for atrial fibrillation
Gynaecologist for infertility
But no one connects the dots, which is frustrating as they are often linked ( look at the evidence)🧩

The you have Mental vs physical health
“Anxiety is just in your head” so let’s prescribe medication, meanwhile your gut is inflamed, blood sugar’s unstable, and hormones are imbalanced as you’re perimenopausal…

FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE is different because it’s WHOLE BODY MEDICINE that looks at the whole of you, it doesn’t hide symptoms of disease with medication but it takes the time to fix the issues at the core.
1. Longer and thorough consultations
2. More detailed tests
3. Follow up consultations
4. In depth look at health, lifestyle, hormones, sleep, nurtrition

We then use the best available evidence based and natural ways to help you lead your healthiest life, increasing your likelihood of livingfree from the burden of disease.

At Cura Body, we connect the dots. We treat YOU, not your symptoms. Because you’re not a diagnosis you are a person and medicine needs to work for you.

That’s the Cura Body difference.

The most successful entrepreneurs I know have one thing in common.

They all think differently

The problem:

Neurodivergent diagnoses are increasing rapidly, but proper optimisation isn’t. Entrepreneurs who are statistically more likely to succeed are stuck relying on caffeine, sleeping poorly, and using stimulants just to function.

The evidence matters:

ADHD entrepreneurs aren’t successful despite their condition they’re successful because of it. But most are running on empty.

Richard Branson. David Neeleman. Ingvar Kamprad.
Billionaires who turned ADHD into business advantage.

But poor optimisation costs you your health and your maximum potential:

3pm brain fog = missed opportunities
Forgetting key details = damaged relationships
Brilliant ideas you can’t execute = lost revenue

The Neurodelux approach:

🧪 Precision Testing- Not wellness guesswork
🎯 Neurodivegent Specific Protocols- Not generic advice
🏃‍♂️ Performance Systems - Built for your brain and body
💊 Targeted Supplementation- Not random vitamins

We don’t treat ADHD. We optimise it for peak performance.

About me:

I’m a physician who transitioned from hospital medicine to build something better. After years treating patients, I knew there had to be more than prescriptions and operations for long-term health. I completed my AFMCP at the Institute for Functional Medicine, where Mark Hyman was one of my instructors. What I learned changed my approach to medicine completely.

Introducing - specialised neurodivergent optimisation.

Ready to perform at your actual potential? DM OPTIMISE

Cura Body continues serving our broader functional medicine community, whilst Neurodelux focuses exclusively on high-performing neurodivergent minds.

Feel Good Friday

Top 10 Pans Ranked – Worst to Best

This week it’s Pans, because not all pans are created equal.

Here’s my Functional Medicine-approved ranking of the best and worst pans for your health.

10. Cheap Teflon-Coated Non-Stick Pans
Release toxic fumes when overheated and can cause Polymer Fume Fever

9. Uncoated Aluminium Pans
Can leach aluminium into your food, particularly when cooking acidic dishes like tomatoes or citrus-based sauces.

8. Unlined Copper Pans
Excess copper leak into food and disrupt your body’s delicate mineral balance over time.

7. Low-Quality Ceramic-Coated Pans
Often chip or degrade quickly, exposing hidden base metals or releasing unknown chemicals.

6. Low-Grade Stainless Steel Pans
Cheap alloys can leach nickel and chromium, especially when cooking acidic foods

5. High-Quality Stainless Steel (18/10 or tri-ply)
A solid, safe option for everyday cooking when quality is high and care is taken with acidic ingredients.

4. Our Place Always Pan / Perfect Pot
Non-toxic ceramic coating and gorgeous design, but the coating can wear down, treat it gently and avoid high heat.

3. Enameled Cast Iron (Le Creuset, Staub)
Non-reactive, long-lasting and beautiful but don’t use if the enamel is chipped.

2. Carbon Steel (De Buyer, Netherton Foundry)
We have these, they are naturally non-stick when seasoned, toxin-free, and perfect for high-heat cooking but can be on the heavy side.

1. Traditional Cast Iron (Lodge, Netherton Foundry)
Durable, time-tested, naturally non-toxic and even adds a small amount of dietary iron to your meals

My advice? Choose pans that support your minerals, don’t add unwanted chemicals. The food you cook matters but so too does the pan you use.

Happy Cooking!

Your body is always working for you.

Even when you feel stuck, it’s rebuilding.
Every meal, sleep, exercise, choice, it ALL matters

And if your body can do all of the above within those timelines without your knowledge then
the question isn’t really can I heal? it’s what am I waiting for?

Let’s stop waiting. If you need help knowing where to start send a DM and we’ll work it out together.

The gut–brain axis isn’t just another wellness trend, it’s one of the most exciting areas in modern medicine. Especially when it comes to autism.

Yes, autism is complex, but research shows that children with autism often have different bacteria, in particular lower levels of beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacterium, and higher levels of inflammatory strains like Clostridia.

These gut imbalances can impact mood, sleep, behaviour, and sensory processing.

What some research showed:

A 2024 Scientific Reports study found a distinct gut microbiome pattern in autism

A 2019 human trial showed Bifidobacterium longum improved behaviour and digestion

Gut-focused protocols led to up to 50% sustained symptom improvement over 2 years

But gut health is just one part of the puzzle.

At CURA Body, we take a whole body, functional medicine approach.
We use testing like:
• GI-MAP (gut bacteria, pathogens, inflammation)
• OAT test (brain chemistry, detox, mitochondria)
• Nutrient testing (magnesium, zinc, vitamin D)

To build a precise, personalised plan.

Because what works for one child might not work for another.

So why don’t most doctors offer this?

Because conventional medicine isn’t set up for root-cause care:

Limited training in nutrition, gut health, or mitochondria

No time or funding for in-depth testing

Neurodivergent children deserve better.

Functional medicine emerged when conventionally trained doctors began to recognise a critical pattern.

Patients were presenting with real, life altering symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, bloating, brain fog, cycle irregularities, weight gain but were consistently told their tests were “normal” and to (in the nicest possible way) go away

These doctors knew that “normal” doesn’t mean optimal, and that patients needed answers. They saw that the healthcare system was built to intervene after disease had taken hold, not to prevent it, understand its root causes, or reverse it in the early stages.

Functional medicine shifted the model.

It uses advanced, systems based thinking to:

1. Identify early dysfunction before disease develops

2. Address interconnected systems, rather than looking at them all individually : gut, immune, endocrine, neurological

3. Personalise care based on genetics, lifestyle, environment, and history

4. Focus on evidence based tools rather than pharmaceuticals: targeted nutrition, therapeutic supplements, movement, nervous system regulation, and lifestyle medicine

This isn’t alternative. It’s preventative precision medicine guided by looking at the whole body: physiology, biochemistry, and clinical reasoning.

It’s not about “clean eating” or trendy biohacking. It asks detailed questions and takes the time to listen to the answers.

At Cura Body, this is the lens I use to uncover the why beneath symptoms. Not just to treat or avoid illness but to rebuild wellness and real health

It’s Feel Good Friday but instead of Foods this week, I’m focusing on something I get asked about a lot - beauty products.

So today we’re tackling make-up, because although these products can make us look good on the outside they can actually be very detrimental to our health.

Since changing my make up I noticed how much better my skin, eyes and lips felt. No longer dry and sensitive and I didn’t have to use as much moisturiser or invest in expensive cleansers to take it all off at night!

So what makes some makeup “bad”, if they contain:

- Endocrine disruptors (e.g. parabens, phthalates, BHT)
- Heavy metals (e.g. lead, beryllium, arsenic — often found in pigments)
- Plastics + microplastics (e.g. PET, nylon-12, acrylates — absorbed or inhaled)
- Synthetic fragrance, PEGs, and unregulated dyes
- No third-party safety or contamination testing

Here’s my list, let me know what you think and if there are any brands you think I should check out :)

WORST to BEST

10. NARS / Maybelline / L’Oréal / MAC - really bad

9. Clinique - wolf in sheep’s clothing

8. Benefit Cosmetics - some scary info about heavy metal impurities and loaded with synthetic fragrances and talc

7. BareMinerals - not as clean as they make out

6. Glossier - PEGs and acrylates

5. RMS Beauty - lacks metals testing and unrefined coconut oil

4. ILIA Beauty - mostly clean

3. Lily Lolo - I like this brand, not too expensive, good clean products and transparent

2. Ere Perez - again another nice clean brand

1. INIKA Organic - tries to be as clean as possible with third party testing and free from plastics, toxins and synthetic preservatives

Healthy Switches
When you’re wired, tired, or overwhelmed, what do you reach for?

Here’s what you told me in the poll:
☕ 40% – Caffeine. All of it.
🍫 30% – Chocolate + snacks
📱 10% – Endless doomscrolling
⬆️ 20% – All. Of. The. Above.

These habits seem like quick fixes… but often end up draining your energy, disrupting your hormones, and keeping your nervous system stuck in overdrive.

Here are some quick easy switches:

1. Caffeine ➝ Ashwagandha
Instead of jolting your system awake, you can support it.
Some studies suggest that Ashwagandha can help to:
- Improve memory and focus
- Reduce cortisol
- Support thyroid function
- Improve stress resilience
It’s a slower hit but a steadier one.

2. Chocolate ➝ Chocolate-coated almonds or better chocolate
Still indulgent. But smarter, because it’s teamed with high fibre.
• Rich in fibre, healthy fats, and polyphenols
• Slower glucose release
• A study found that whole almonds have about 20% fewer absorbable calories than previously estimated, because their rigid cell walls prevent full fat absorption during digestion.

3. Doomscrolling ➝ Nature or movement
Scrolling floods the brain with dopamine and noise. Nature restores calm.
Just 10–15 minutes outside has been shown to:
• Reduce cortisol
• Improve memory and mood

These aren’t strict rules, but they are clever tools. So that when you reach for something to help you keep going, you’re not just making things harder in the long run. These switches support your system instead of overstimulating it.

Everyone talks about having on average 80 summers and making it count.

But the summers for men vs women varies hugely.

Very few will ever have been taught what’s actually happening inside their body during the most defining hormonal shifts of their life.

Let’s break it down:
• Puberty triggers significant neurological change and rewriting.
The adolescent brain undergoes structural development, especially in the prefrontal cortex and limbic system. This impacts emotional regulation, decision-making, and sensitivity to stress.
(Blakemore et al., 2012; Paus et al., 2008)
• Each Pregnancy remodels the brain again.
Studies show changes in grey matter volume in regions linked to maternal behaviour, empathy, and emotional regulation. These changes can last for years and years postpartum.
(Hoekzema et al., 2017)
• Menopause rewires the brain yet again.
Declining oestrogen alters brain energy metabolism and neurotransmitter balance, often leading to changes in mood, cognition, and sleep.
(Mosconi et al., 2021)

These transitions aren’t mood swings and something to belittle. Anyone who has a child going through puberty will see how much their child changes. They’re neuroendocrine events—real, measurable, and often misunderstood.

Most systems medicate, dismiss, or “manage” this with the pill, HRT, antidepressants.
But at CURA Body, we map it we look at the entire timeline from your first period to today.

Because as a woman your brain and to some extent your identity changes multiple times in a lifetime.

And each time, you get to decide:
• Ignore it and struggle through.
• Or understand it and lead through it.

We use functional medicine, to help women think clearly, feel stable, and live with intention. So they embrace their summers.

Tolerance Isn’t a Sign of Strength – It’s a Sign of Survival

You’re praised for “handling everything.”
You cope with the bloating, the brain fog, the sugar cravings, the afternoon crash.
But what if all of that is your body slowly caving under the pressure of it all?

Your body builds tolerance. Sometimes, that’s a good thing — it helps us adapt and become more resilient.
But in the modern world, tolerance to easily accessible “pleasures” but that the body doesn’t recognise at that, like sugar, caffeine, gluten, dairy, alcohol, and painkillers quietly builds…
Until it doesn’t.
Until your body can no longer keep up.

⸝

Unhealthy tolerance looks like:
• Eating gluten or dairy even though you feel bloated, foggy, or inflamed afterward
• Needing sugar, caffeine or wine just to make it through the day
• Dismissing symptoms like headaches, fatigue, skin flare-ups as “normal”
• Masking discomfort instead of facing the root cause

⸝

Your body is brilliant. It adapts to survive.
But let’s be clear: adaptation isn’t the same as resilience.
These patterns aren’t always a sign of strength — they’re signs your system is coping just about, not thriving.

⸝

It’s time to ask:

What is my body tolerating that it shouldn’t have to?

At CURA Body, we help you uncover the signals beneath the symptoms:
• Food intolerances (like gluten, dairy, histamine overload)
• Blood sugar imbalances that drive cravings, fatigue, and mood swings
• Burnout that hides behind overachieving
• And the deeper messages your body’s been trying to tell you

You don’t have to keep tolerating the intolerable.
