MANY FACTORS influence our mood & emotional stability.
Sometimes causing problems in daily life.

Hormones do play a part and its easy to blame them during menopause.

Hormones open the gate to what is going on inside us. We will feel sensitive to this.

Many of us have learnt to habitually protect ourselves from pain by numbing or avoiding emotions.
Its no wonder they are hard to tolerate in menopause.

Hormones can amplify them and natural emotional tendencies.

🥰 Its an opportunity to evaluate your life.
What are you hiding, surpressing?
What’s working, not working?
What do you want to release, let go of?

🙌 YES - Still got it.
Well, sort of 🤔

Chatted up by a stranger and asked out this morning.
Ok, so it was in Savers by the Lambrini but it did make me laugh.

Far cry from the fun, wild, adventurous times in cooler establishments, when encounters were regular.

Exciting as it was, wouldnt go back there.
Life is made up of phases & cycles, each with its own magic.

Menopause is also another natural phase.
Not a medical problem to be fixed.
Yes some women experience mood changes, sleep, energy disturbance, uncomfortable ailments. Can be stressful.
All temporary.
All can be managed naturally.

In a society which promotes & celebrates productivity, the young, physical attractiveness.
Pathologizes which doesn’t fit in with the norm.

We don’t
🙋🏻‍♀️ delay puberty
🌲 prevent leaves from falling
🐕‍🦺 stop our dogs from molting
🌊 chage the sea tides

Each phase trustingly leads us healthy & naturally to the next.

I invite you to listen & honour your body. Your inner truth.

In a report published recently by UK parliament.

The demand driven by the 35% increase in prescribed HRT in the last year and the short supply of it.

What are your thoughts and immediate reaction to this?

A clothing conundrum!
They are too tight!😱
What does fit makes me feel dull & dowdy.
Seeing if there is anything in my wardrobe that can have a renaissance.

Too much 🍕🍰🥂
Not enough 🏃‍♀️🏊‍♀️💃🏾

Its easy to blame menopause for weightgain in your 50s or mid life

Many women writing themselves off. ‘This is it for me now’.

On the flip side Davina McCall is everywhere these days looking thin, glossy, smiley in skimpy clothing.
Even if you did aspire to this image or lifestyle, its not realistic or attainable for most of us.
We have our own versions of what feeling healthy and a good lufe looks like. Unique needs and priorities.

This is 1 of my reasons to create the upcoming workshop. there are alternatives.

On way to Kew Gardens!

🍁 Notice I’m wearing some autuminal colour which helps you to feel warm, grounded and nourished in Autumn, vata season, which I’ve spoke of previously.

Try adding some warming colour such us burgundy, plum, rust,reds, golds, browns etc to your outfit.
Can be small touches….a scarf, collar….

Notice the difference it makes to your mood or energy.
Notice how you respond to warming grounding colours you see around you.

Give it a try and let me know if you notice the difference.
Maybe even share a photo.

Besides autumn colours, the foods & diet Ayurveda recommends for this season are my faves and favourite way of cooking.
The slow cooker is on! 🥘👨‍🍳

As we move into Autumn 🍂’vata’ is prominent. In our bodies as well as the atmosphere & environment around us.

Vata’s light, dry, rough, empty, cold, windy qualities can trigger seasonal imbalances in us, lower our immunity & resistence to illness such as colds, fatigue, digestive sensitivities, allergies. It can amplify anxiety, nervousness and sense of feeling unsettled.

Recommended seasonal diet promotes warmth, moisture, groundedness, nourishment. Good digestive fire & immunity.

A V O I D
❌ crisps, crackers, cold or dry cereals
❌ raw veg & salads
❌ cold food, fruits & drinks

F A V O U R
✔️ soups, stews, curries, dal
✔️ cooked root veg, seasonal fruit + veg
✔️ warm oats
✔️ use warming spices in food

🍁Autumn (Vata Season). Tips to keep you grounded, nourished and offset seasonal induced imbalences.

Ayurveda considers seasonal routines an important cornerstone for health. Its one of the simplest ways to protect your well-being & health all year round.

Have you observed your dog, cat, pets subtle change of behaviour & preferences when we are not imposing our same routines on them?
Notice the widlife & nature outside

As an antidote to the erratic, unpredictable, cool, light, windy, dry qualities of autumn which can make us feel:
Empty, ungrounded, anxious & vulnerable. (Amplified if we have these tendencies anyway)
Fill it with:
Warmth, deep nourishment, sense of stability, routine,oiliness.

Establishing a routine & small lifestyle changes is the easiest and most effective ways to do it.

Simple minor tweaks here and there make you feel better.

🧡 listen to your body, intuition. What is it asking for?
🧡 go to bed and rise at same time each day
🧡 go for a sauna rather than the outdoor swim
🧡 take 10 mins each day for meditation
🧡 replace your cold muesli, smoothie breakfast with warm porridge
🧡 if unsure, ask yourself, Will this nourish & ground me?
