🌿 Sunday Reset: Prioritize Your Mental Health 🌿

With the clocks returning an hour today, we’re gifted with a little extra time to slow down and focus on self-care. Use this extra hour to nurture your mind and body – because your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

🧘‍♀️ Here are 3 simple ways to make the most of this extra time:

1. Practice Mindfulness – Spend a few minutes in quiet reflection or meditation.
2. Connect with Nature – Take advantage of the daylight and go for a peaceful walk.
3. Unplug – Use the extra hour to disconnect from screens and reconnect with yourself.

Remember, self-care isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity. 🌸

As we start a new week, it's a reminder of the strength and resilience of trauma survivors who have overcome immense challenges. At CAST, we remain committed to providing support, especially for displaced people, helping them rebuild their lives in safe and nurturing environments.

Since November 2021, CAST has supported Afghan evacuees through a culturally sensitive, multidisciplinary outreach program. Vittoria De Meo and Seema Assadullah from the screening team shared their experiences in screening Afghan families for trauma and health concerns. The project emphasized empathy, cultural competency, and teamwork while learning from the evacuees' unique needs. Their insights highlight the importance of adapting care to different cultures and personal experiences. Their insights have shaped future refugee services, including for Ukrainian families.

Since November 2022, the CAST Centre has been working closely with St Mary's Ukrainian School supplementary school staff to develop a screening and support model for children arriving from war-torn Ukraine.

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to address the unique challenges that displaced children face, helping them navigate trauma and fostering resilience.
