The morning after pill will soon be free from UK pharmacies - a MAJOR step in recognising emergency contraception as essential healthcare, not a luxury. 👏 This is going to make a major difference for many people who need it, BUT we know from our community’s own experiences that cost was just ONE barrier... ❌ 
We launched the morning after pill, with speedy next day delivery OR to keep on hand at home in case you need it, back in lockdown via the online clinic at hanxofficial.com in response to the stressful, awkward and even traumatic stories you shared with us, including:  😔 Facing judgement and shaming for being ‘promiscuous’ from healthcare professionals 👀 Uncomfortable questioning in crowded pharmacies in front of a queue of people 😓 Horrendous stress to find an open chemist during the critical time window 
Removing cost is one move, but we also need to tackle outdated attitudes and unnecessary inconvenience, too. With 1 in 3 women accessing emergency contraception in 2023*, we really need to ensure healthcare providers are fully trained and supportive when it comes to supplying those who need it. 💙

Recent research from the World Health Organisation shows gonorrhoea infections have increased by over 30% globally in the past five years. Even more concerning? These infections are becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics, making them harder to treat than ever before 🦠

𝐒𝐨, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨?

Scientists are hard at work developing new treatments. A promising single-injection treatment showed a 96% success rate in clearing infections with a single dose, potentially revolutionising treatment and prevention of the infection ⭐

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have advised the UK government to roll out a routine vaccination programme ASAP, even with a modest vaccination programme many cases of Gonorrhoea could be prevented.

In the meantime, prevention is more important than ever. Condoms remain the most effective way to prevent STI transmission during s*x -reducing your risk of gonorrhoea by approximately 98% when used correctly. That's some serious protection in one tiny package. 👊
