Lara Jezeph

Lara Jezeph Hi beautiful mum, welcome to my page. I’m a PT living with a levator avulsion & prolapse. Check out my podcast ‘Fannying About’ for helpful info.

I empower mums to get strong, confident and never leak again, because you deserve it.

Turns out you can tear your pelvic floor off the bone.

A levator avulsion…but what is it?

It’s when one side of the pelvic floor muscles (specifically the levator ani group) tears away from the p***c bone, often from childbirth.

I have a right-sided avulsion, which means I have to strengthen one side and relax (down-train) the other. It’s tricky work!

The key to my rehab has been:
• Managing pressure (especially when lifting or moving)
• Breathwork (learning to coordinate breath and core)
• Activating the deep core and pelvic floor
• Full body strength, not just focusing on the pelvis!

It’s a slow, focussed journey, but so worth it for regaining strength and confidence.

Healing a levator avulsion isn’t talked about enough. If you’re on this path too, what’s been working for you?

✨ Been doing your kegels daily with no relief in sight? Let’s talk about it.

We’ve been told that Kegels are the holy grail of pelvic floor recovery… but what if that’s only part of the picture?

➡️ Not all pelvic floor dysfunction is caused by weakness.
➡️ Not all bodies benefit from more squeezing.
➡️ And doing Kegels wrong can make things worse.

Your pelvic floor might be:
💥 Too tight
💦 Dehydrated
😮‍💨 Stressed
🌀 Affected by hormones
🙈 Or just plain misunderstood

If you’ve been Kegeling your heart out with no progress, it’s time to dig deeper.

Swipe through to learn why and what you can do instead.

“Just Prioritise Sleep, Mums - It’s That Easy!” (Yeah, Right...)

You know when some health expert says, “You just need to prioritise sleep. It’s essential for your health.” And you’re sitting there, running on broken sleep, fuelled by caffeine and sheer willpower, thinking… “Yeah, f**k you. It’s not like I want to be sleep-deprived.”

Because here’s the reality, I have a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old and neither of them have ever been great sleepers. I don’t have the luxury of an uninterrupted eight hours, no matter how many times I avoid screens before bed or meditate myself into oblivion.

Mums don’t just choose to be exhausted, it’s part of the job.

And to make things even more unfair, science shows that after we have kids, our brains literally rewire themselves to stay on high alert. That’s why we wake up at the tiniest noise, while our partners could probably sleep through a marching band. It’s biology, not bad luck.

So, if getting more sleep isn’t an option, what can we do? Here are some legit ways I’ve found to make the sleep I do get actually count…check out ‘articles’ in bio.

Gone back to being a gluten free household again since last week!!

I didn’t realise actually how much gluten Monty was having until I removed it again. Have to get creative a little more with lunchboxes but it’ll be worth it.

Removed it as his sinuses were crazy and it was recommended by our chiropractor (allergies are linked with gluten and gut imbalances).

He had his adenoids reduced and grommets put in in December and since then he has had 2 infections and it feels like there’s not much improvement in the sinus area.

However his hearing was amazing after the op.

Anyway, lunch box ideas for those in need of inspiration for GF ❤️

This is what I had to send my training buddy after a check up with my amazing Osteo Lis

I felt teary when she told me but mainly because exercise, and strength training is what helps me mentally stay strong.

AND I LOVE IT!!

BUT, it’s not forever and like I said to Jhuan, my training just looks a little different than yours right now. We all have different bodies.

Rehab is boring but it means I get to do the stuff I LOVE.

Having babies is ALOT on your body so that’s why recovery isn’t the BS of ‘6 weeks bounce back’.

Follow me on my HYROX journey 💪🏻 that looks a lot different to the usual training 😂

I haven’t done one of these introductions on Instagram before but see lots of people do it so I thought I would.

Hi, I’m Lara and I’m a Brit, living in Australia with my two boys and husband James.

I qualified as a PT back in 2013 but after having my first son in 2019 I became passionate about healing myself and getting strong again. I share my learnings and experiences with mums to empower them to do the same.

Things about me:
- I’m the oldest of five children.
- My mum raised us on her own 💪🏻
- I had a traumatic birth in 2019 (Monty) leaving me with 3C tearing, levator avulsion and prolapse and I had the most amazingly healing birth in 2023 (Arthur).
- I love coffee, butter and burgers (but not together 🤮)
- Sometimes you’ll find me strength training in muscle leggings.
- I recently started running free core and pelvic floor workshops as I couldn’t understand why these weren’t offered to mums by places like CaFHS or local councils.
- I proposed to my husband with Monty back in 2020 but then the easing got delayed two years due to COVID.
- We got married on a beach and instead of cutting the cake, we did sabering of champagne 🍾
- I entered a bikini competition to see what would happen and what I could learn about myself.
- I use to suffer with intolerances, SIBO and leaky gut.
- My background is marketing and I worked as a marketing director for security and private investigation firms in the U.K, Dubai and Africa (Kenya).

Oh, I host a podcast called to get all my thoughts and questions onto one platform. It’s my way of learning and sharing as I go.

That’s all from me 😘 Come say hi 👋
