Integrated Vector Management (IVM) is a strategy for the control and management of disease vectors, such as mosquitoes, that transmit infectious diseases like malaria, dengue, Zika, and lymphatic filariasis.

The key aspects of Integrated Vector Management (IVM) include:

1. Evidence-based decision making: Using data and information on the local vector ecology, disease epidemiology, and socioeconomic factors to guide vector control strategies.

2. Integrated approaches: Combining multiple vector control methods, such as chemical, biological, and environmental management, to achieve better results.

3. Collaboration and partnership: Involving various stakeholders, including the community, health sector, and other relevant sectors, to coordinate and strengthen vector control efforts.

4. Capacity building: Strengthening the capacity of personnel and institutions involved in vector control, including training, supervision, and access to necessary resources.

5. Advocacy, social mobilization, and legislation: Promoting awareness, community engagement, and policies that support effective vector control.

6. Monitoring and evaluation: Continuously monitoring the effectiveness of vector control interventions and using the data to guide decision-making and improve the program.

The main objectives of IVM are to:

- Reduce the burden of vector-borne diseases
- Optimize the use of resources
- Promote the participation of communities
- Strengthen vector control capacity
- Ensure the sustainability of vector control efforts

By adopting an IVM approach, countries and communities can develop more effective, efficient, and sustainable strategies to control and manage disease vectors, ultimately contributing to improved public health outcomes. @متابعين UNICEF وزارة الصحة الاتحادية

Public health plays a pivotal role in promoting population health and improving quality of life. Through preventive efforts and early interventions, public health contributes to reducing communicable and chronic diseases, promoting positive health behaviors, and creating supportive health environments.
In addition to traditional medical efforts, the importance of social determinants of health (SDOH) in influencing population health is becoming increasingly recognized.

Hypertension affects 1 in 3 adults worldwide. This common, deadly condition leads to stroke, heart attack, heart failure, kidney damage and many other health problems.

First-ever report by WHO highlight the devastating global impact of high blood pressure, along with recommendations on the ways to win the race against this silent killer.

The report shows approximately 4 out of every 5 people with hypertension are not adequately treated, but if countries can scale up coverage, 76 million deaths could be averted between 2023 and 2050.

Read the full report here:

To amplify the stark reality of the disease burden from this "silent killer", WHO produced a Global report on hypertension. This comprehensive report features unsettling statistics underscoring the far-reaching consequences of uncontrolled hypertension – ranging from heart attacks, strokes and pre...
