Art therapy.
At art therapy classes, we will, first of all
• learn to focus on the present moment (mindfulness practices),
• feel the connection between emotions and bodily reactions,
• strengthen our sense of self,
• and develop creative thinking.
The idea that art making can be a form of therapy is very old and art making is one of the most ancient forms of healing.
Art therapy is based on the belief that images can help us understand who we are and enhance life through self-expression.
Art can be used for transformation, rehabilitation, restoration of wellbeing (physical, psychological and spiritual).
Many people discovered stress reducing power of art making. When I say “art making”, I don’t mean that you need to be professional artist. Rather, on the contrary, art therapy is primarily aimed at people without an art education.
Art is not only drawing, it is sometimes working with clay, watching videos, discussing artists' works, creating a collage.
We will work in small closed groups (after the group is formed, it does not change until the end of the course). This allows us to make our work efficient and comfortable.
Also, come for introduction class, where you can understand in practice how art therapy works.
