We are so proud to introduce a speaker that will join us on International Reflux Day! Raoul Dusterhus!

Raoul is a state-certified speech therapist, alternative practitioner for speech therapy , an opera singer and a singing teacher from Schermbeck (NRW).

After studying classical singing in Germany and Italy, Raoul also studied speech therapy due to his diverse interest in voice. Since 2023, he's also been treating patients with language, speech, voice, swallowing, and hearing disorders.

Whether you are a singer, a frequent speaker or just like to talk, your voice is an important tool in everyday life, which we explore in this conversation with Raoul. The conversation will be live on November 9th.

International Reflux Day

International Reflux Day is a global initiative dedicated to everyone affected by acid reflux, heartburn, or the sensation of a lump in the throat often caused by hiatal hernia. Despite how common it is, reflux remains a rarely discussed condition that can have a profound impact on people’s daily lives.

Reflux-related diseases are a worldwide health concern, affecting not only individuals’ quality of life but also leading to significant socio-economic consequences. Many people suffer without knowing the underlying cause of their symptoms — they are, quite literally, suffering in silence.

Established in 2019 by MYoroface AB, International Reflux Day aims to raise awareness, promote understanding, and break the silence surrounding reflux-based conditions.

This year, we are proud to host a broadcast featuring international guests and an interactive online chat, where you can ask questions and receive answers in real time.

Join us online for a unique opportunity to learn more about this and the treatment. We’ll explore acid reflux from a functional medicine perspective, discuss how it can affect the voice, and hear a personal story from one of our customers.

For almost 40 years, singer, composer and arranger Anders Edenroth has toured the world with the award-winning singing group ‘The Real Group’. Despite great musical success, Anders had problems with his own instrument - his voice. He´d been struggling with reflux for many years.

Last week Mary Hägg had the privilege of attending the EFISDS Annual Congress 2025 and this is her experience:

"Still filled with gratitude after an unforgettable congress experience in Elbląg, Poland

I had the privilege of attending the EFISDS - European Federation of the International Society of Digestive Surgery Congress 2025 – a world congress that brought together leading experts to discuss GERD, EGJ Cancer and Beyond: Multidisciplinary Innovations and New Technologies.

From the very first moment, I was struck by the openness, generosity, and willingness to share knowledge among the professors and colleagues I met. The presentations were not only scientifically inspiring but also full of passion for advancing patient care.

It was an honor to see IQoro highlighted on the international stage. Prof. Viswanath YKS (James Cook University Hospital, UK; President, BBUGSS) presented ongoing Randomised Controlled Trials at University Hospitals in Linköping, Sweden, with Prof.Thomas Franzén as the head, as well as plans for a London study – important steps toward building strong clinical evidence.

My profound thanks to Prof Vishwanath YKS for his presentation of IQoro, as a self-administered neuromuscular training device that can offer an alternative to long-term PPI medication and to surgery. He underlined that it has published scientific evidence for its effectiveness in treating GÈRD and reflux, but also outlined his support for further studies in Sweden and in London to provide more physiological data on end-ot-treatment outcomes.

As the innovator behind IQoro and its training method, I was humbled to be introduced by Prof.Luigi Marano, President Elect of EFISDS, and to share a few words myself.

I carry with me not only new insights and inspiration but also deep gratitude for the warm hospitality shown to all participants. A heartfelt thank you to Prof. Luigi Marano, host of this invaluable event, and to Monika Węgrzynek, Chairwoman of the Organizing Committee, for making this congress truly exceptional."

Beverley D’Silva, a UK-based journalist, was a serial snorer. At one time, the snoring got so bad, her husband resorted to recording her slumbering snores to prove how loud it could get.

Confronted with the audio evidence, she began searching for something that could cut it down, or even help her stop snoring. In her research for non-invasive snoring solutions, she stumbled across IQoro. "
