Peripheral artery disease (PAD) affects about 20% of the UK population aged 55-75 — more than 2 million people. Two-thirds are asymptomatic. People are unaware they are ill, but this can be prevented in 85% of cases with, for example, early intervention.
Every year in the UK, nearly 7,000 people lose a limb because of diabetic foot complications. For many, amputation marks the beginning of a steep decline — with a five-year mortality rate of 50%, exceeding that of several common cancers.
Our partnership with Healthcare 21 aims to support improved clinical decision-making and patient outcomes — aligned with the priorities of the NHS and broader preventative care initiatives. We look forward to working closely with the team at HC 21 UK.
