Welcome to the Centre for Advanced Reconstruction of Extremities (C.A.R.E.) at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Mölndal. We are a unique centre, created for highly specialized functional reconstruction of extremities. We focus on: • Patients in need of bone-anchored amputation prostheses • Tetraplegic patients with spinal cord injuries where reconstructive hand surgery restore hand or arm function • Patients with spasticity in arms/ hands after stroke or brain injuries. These patient groups have different needs, but they all have one common goal - to increase their quality of life by becoming more independent. To accomplish this, our centre works in a team-based and patient-oriented way. Surgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and orthopaedic engineers work together to provide every patient with the best possible outcome. On this site you will find current information about what happens at the clinic, articles on current topics, news about our research and also information for our present, past and future patients.
