If you’ve ever smelled Cedar essential oil, it can’t have left you indifferent. Its smell can be too strong for some. Others can’t take their nose out of the bottle. Because it has this powerful and sometimes addictive effect.

Cedarwood is one of the sacred oils. The symbol of grounding, strength and immortality.

Used since ancient times in Egypt and the Middle East, the Celts and mentioned in the Bible, cedarwood comes from majestic trees that can live up to 2,000 years.

Next week, I will be exhibiting at Sweden’s first Ta**ra Market.

But before I tell you more, let’s address the elephant in the room:

Ta**ra is not about s*x.

It’s probably the biggest misconception.

Sexuality can be part of certain practices but Ta**ra, in its essence, is a path of presence and awareness. A way to reconnect with your body, your breath, your emotions and your energy. It’s about boundaries, consent and connection.

I’ll be there as an exhibitor with essential oils and lots of nice blends and roll-ons (chakra balancing, yin & yang, massage oils) and will be offering two free workshops:

What are sacred oils? Why were some oils considered sacred?

I’ve always been drawn to history, archaeology, religion… and everything a little mystic and mysterious.

Perfume and alchemy fascinated me long before I became an aromatherapist.

And when I came across these sacred oils, I had to read and explore them more deeply.

Ancient civilisations across the world used aromatic plants. There was a deep understanding of their medicinal properties, but some were valued for something spiritual. They were used in temples, sacred and royal places. As perfume oils, ointments, smudging, balms…

As a bridge between the body and the divine.

Today their essence lives in essential oils.

But these oils are not only meant to be studied, they are also meant to be experienced. I will hold a workshop where we’ll experience them through scent, breath and guided meditation. And you will feel them in your body, your emotions and your energy. You will discover their complex and powerful fragrances and properties. Some scents may feel familiar, you will love some. Others may be surprising or unexpected. But I can guarantee they won’t leave you indifferent.

Most people treat allergies by suppressing the symptoms, but your body is reacting for a reason.

What if instead of shutting it down, you supported it?

🌿 Essential oils can help on multiple levels:
✅ Calm inflammation in the nasal passages

When you use the wrong essential oil, your body knows instantly. It can feel uncomfortable and may bring up emotions.

Sometimes this happens because the plant properties are touching something sensitive or painful.

That is why listening to your body is essential. Return to your “comfort oil”, the one that soothes, grounds and feels like home. We all have one. It is just a matter of discovering it.

There are different types of fatigue and thus different types of essential oils.

Here, we’re talking about physical fatigue or tiredness and to help out go through the day, I like to use:

🌲Spruce (black, white or blue but I use Picea Mariana): 3 drops mixed with vegetable oil and massage on the lower back (kidney area)
⚠️ in the morning only (or you’ll be up all night), not for children, pregnant/breastfeeding women, people with kidney issues or hyperthyroidism.

🌱Peppermint (Mentha piperita): inhale during the day (but not too late in the evening)
⚠️ Not for children, or pregnant/breastfeeding women

Stress is not just in your head…and sometimes, we unknowingly make it worse by:

1. Pushing trough
We’ve been taught to ignore stress and push through and many of use (especially busy, high-achieving women) are very good at it. But stress accumulates and your body stores.

2. Trying to think your way out of stress.
Overthinking won’t calm your nervous system. Because stress lives in the body.

3. Ignoring the body
Tension in the neck, shallow breath, heaviness in your stomach, sleep issues. Your body gives you signals. Quiet at first but if you ignore it, it will shout.

➡️ Stress is a body experience, which means it needs a body-based response.

💡My quick tips:
Sit in a quiet place for 2-5 minutes.
Close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths and gently connect to your body.
Open your bottle of favourite essential oil (calming ones could be orange, bergamot, geranium, lavender, roman chamomile, pine, cedar wood…)
Inhale slowly, exhale a bit longer.
Repeat for a couple of minutes
Let the beautiful fragrance and the plant’s wisdom gently enter your body and bring your nervous system back to calm.

Sleep issues are among the most common problems my clients seek help for and they’re often more complex than they seem.

There are many ways to support sleep, but from personal experience, I’ve found aromatherapy to be particularly effective.

Essential oils can support the nervous system gently, naturally but efficiently, without the grogginess often associated with sleeping pills.

The key is finding what your body responds to. That’s exactly what we’ll explore together in this workshop
