New research has highlighted something I talk about all the time: skin ageing after 40 is not just about what we put on the skin. It is also deeply connected to hormonal changes, nutrition and oxidative stress.

This new 2026 review looked at collagen, curcumin and glutathione as supportive nutrients for women as oestrogen levels decline.

Why does this matter?

As oestrogen drops, women may notice:
✨ drier skin
✨ less firmness
✨ more fine lines
✨ reduced elasticity
✨ slower skin repair

Collagen may help support skin structure, curcumin has antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties, and glutathione plays an important role in protecting cells from oxidative stress.

This does not mean one supplement is a magic fix. But it does show why supporting the skin from the inside out is so important, especially during perimenopause, menopause and beyond.

Delighted to be featured in the April 2026 issue of DERMASCOPE Magazine with my Meno Massage Method®.

Bean & Artichoke Sourdough Toast 🌿🍋

A delicious savoury breakfast or light lunch packed with fibre, plant protein and healthy fats to support energy, gut health and hormone balance.

Serves: 2

Ingredients

* 2 slices sourdough bread, toasted
* 240g (1 cup) cooked butter beans or lima beans
* 120g (½ cup) marinated artichoke hearts, chopped
* ¼ small red onion, finely sliced
* 1 large tomato, sliced
* 60g (4 tbsp) hummus
* Juice of ½ lemon
* 1 tsp (5ml) extra virgin olive oil
* 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
* 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
* ½ tsp dried oregano
* Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Method

1. In a bowl, mix the beans, artichokes, onion, lemon juice, olive oil, parsley, nutritional yeast, oregano, salt and pepper.
2. Spread the hummus over the toasted sourdough.
3. Top with tomato slices and spoon over the bean mixture.

Simple, nourishing and full of flavour without taking ages to make 💗

“I’m falling apart… and I don’t know why.”

This is something I hear from so many women.

And now, new phenomenological research is finally giving a voice to that experience
Looking at how menopause actually feels from the inside, not just the symptoms

The study found women often experience:

✨ Confusion and uncertainty
✨ Brain fog and reduced focus
✨ Emotional distress and overwhelm
✨ A feeling of not recognising themselves

Many also felt dismissed or unsupported, delaying the help they needed

This is why menopause is not just hot flushes
It affects your mind, your confidence and your sense of self

But there is something really important to take from this

With the right support, education and simple lifestyle changes, women can move towards clarity, resilience and feeling like themselves again

This is exactly why I do what I do 💗

Black Bean & Avocado Burgers 🌿🥑
High fibre, plant-powered and perfect for steady energy, balanced blood sugar and happy hormones.

Serves: 4–6

Ingredients
• 1 cup / 200g cooked jasmine or basmati rice
• 2 tbsp / 30ml olive oil or avocado oil
• 1 medium onion, finely chopped
• 3 garlic cloves, minced
• 2 tbsp taco seasoning
• 2 tins black beans, drained and rinsed
• 2 tbsp fresh coriander / cilantro, chopped
• 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
• ½ cup / 50g oat flour or blended oats
• Sea salt and black pepper

To serve
Wholegrain buns, sliced avocado, rocket / arugula, tomato, cucumber or fermented veg.

Method

1. Cook the rice and allow to cool slightly.
2. Sauté the onion in 1 tbsp oil for 4–5 minutes. Add garlic and spices, then cook for 1 minute.
3. Mash half the black beans in a bowl. Add the remaining beans, rice, onion mix, coriander, flaxseed and oat flour. Season well.
4. Chill for 20–30 minutes, then shape into patties.
5. Bake at 200°C / 400°F for 20–25 minutes, turning halfway.
6. Serve with rocket, avocado and your favourite toppings.

These are a lovely option if you want something filling, fibre-rich and supportive for steady energy through the day.

Quick tip: Make extra and freeze the patties for busy days.

I’m delighted to share that I’ve been featured in London TV following the news that my book, Have a Magnificent Menopause: A Straightforward Guide to Looking Good and Feeling Great, has been shortlisted for the Business Book Awards in the Wellness and Wellbeing category.

This recognition means so much to me, not just personally, but for the wider conversation around menopause and women’s health.

For too long, many women have felt overlooked or unsure where to turn when it comes to symptoms like low energy, brain fog, weight gain, anxiety and sleep issues. My aim with this book has always been to provide clear, practical guidance that helps women feel more like themselves again.

A heartfelt thank you to the Business Book Awards for recognising this work and to London TV for shining a light on such an important topic.

Having a wonderful week working with the Nutritional Therapy students at the university of West London during their clinical practice exams.

It is always so rewarding to watch them move from theory into real world consultations, asking thoughtful questions, building rapport and beginning to think like practitioners.

I feel very privileged to be part of their journey as they grow into confident, safe and skilled Nutritional Therapy Practitioners who will go on to support the health and wellbeing of so many people.

For years, I watched women blame themselves 💗

They would say things like:

“I just need more discipline.”
“I should be able to lose this weight.”
“I don’t know why I’m so tired all the time.”
“I used to cope with everything, why can’t I now?”

But the more I worked with women over 40, the more I saw the truth 👇

This was not laziness.
This was not failure.
This was not a lack of willpower.

Their bodies had changed.

Hormones were shifting.
Stress was higher.
Sleep was broken.
Blood sugar was unstable.
Their nervous system was exhausted.

And yet they were still trying to live, work, eat and exercise like they did in their 30s.

That is why I do the work I do 💗

Because women need to understand their bodies, not fight against them.

When you know what is really going on, you can stop blaming yourself and start making changes that actually work.

Small changes.
Realistic changes.
Changes that support your energy, weight, mood, skin and confidence ✨

Your body is asking for a different kind of support.
