A question I get asked over and over again is:

Here’s where I always suggest starting 👇

🌿 Simplify your wash routine
Begin washing your hair once a week using a dreadlock-friendly shampoo. This helps your hair adjust naturally and removes buildup that can slow the locking process.

🚫 Let go of conditioner & softening products
Anything that makes your hair extra soft, slippery, or coated will work against your locs forming properly. This step can feel scary at first, but it’s essential.

💭 Get clear on your dream hair
Ask yourself:
– How do I want my locs to look, feel, and move?
– Natural or manicured? Thick or fine?
– What lifestyle do I want them to support?
Clarity here saves so much frustration later.

🤍 Choose a loctician you feel aligned with

This is one of my long time clients Pontus that comes in for his yearly dreadlock maintenance.

He is a person that has been comming to me for so many years that I think we have stopped counting the years 😂

He is the person that washes his dreadlocks on a regular basis and then he does not do anything with them at all, not even seperate the dreadlocks at the root, it is something that I do recommend for all clients to do after washing their hair so that the dreadlocks do not grow together into a big knot.

On this day I waved my magic wand (hook and comb) and within 2 hours Pontus leaves with fresh roots on his dreadlocks again!

A lot of my clients say to me that the work that I do and that my students do really stand out, the dreadlock extensions really look so natural.

The thing is when I’m doing a head of dreadlocks with extensions I’m very picky with the color of the hair that I use for the extensions. Sometimes I even use up to 6 different colors in one hair so why do I do this?

If you look at someone’s hair you will see that all over the head you have different shades, parts might be bleached by the sun etc. If you do not get all of the different shades into the hair then somehow the color will look flat.

Another thing is that I hand make all the dreadlocks this means that all of them will be a bit different from each other and that also
creates a natural flow into the hair.

Yes it takes time but it is so worth it ❤️

Before I even take on a client I want to do a video call just so that I know who you are and what your dream hair is!

I hand pick out hair extension hair that matches your hair color and I also blend different colors together o that I get some different shades and that creates debth in the color and makes the dreadlocks look more alive.

One by one the dreadlocks are being created, for me it is like going into a trans state. The other day one of my friends asked me so how is it for the client then, my best explained is that my state of energy while I’m working will affect my client. It is like they are also pulled into this state of energy.

The most common question my clients say is how did the day go by so fast?

What happen to the time?

And once we are finished a new version of my client leaves with a new type of energy and confidence to tackle the world with.
