The Case for Her is a philanthropic investment portfolio and non-profit organization addressing the key women’s health issues of menstruation, s*xual health & pleasure and safe abortion through advocacy and convenings. We believe in an equal world where women and girls thrive and that by investing in key women's health issues that have been underfunded and overlooked, there is an unprecedented opportunity to break open gender inequality.
We are now searching for a Communications Assistant to work together with our Head of Advocacy and Communications to help with external engagement, increase our share of voice, and build visibility for our mission. This person will execute communications and PR strategies that continue to develop our reputation for thought leadership, increase our media presence, and drive the growth of our social media channels.
Who you are:
A self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and who is able to work autonomously
Passionate about gender equality and comfortable openly discussing women’s s*xual health
Able to take complicated, often taboo, topics and turn them into easily understood, engaging, and inspirational content
Skilled at coming up with creative ideas for getting the word out
Knowledgeable about media trends and able to quickly adapt to changes
Exceptionally communicative and organized and able to juggle multiple projects at the same time
What you’ll do:
Execute our communication plans and activities by creating and placing inspirational content in the appropriate channels as well as regularly and actively engaging on social media
Grow our social media presence and coordinate with the team to develop best practices around their individual accounts
Help plan and execute events (virtual and in-person when the situation finally allows)
Help the brands and organizations in our portfolio by providing communications support as needed (this can be anything from running an announcement, to creating simple promotional assets for social media)
Help produce presentations, briefing materials, statements, talking points, and speeches
Be our ears to the ground by attending relevant meetings and events, and report findings back to the team
Must-have qualifications:
Experience developing social media content
Currently completing or have completed a degree in communication (or equivalent work experience in a communications or marketing role)
Fluent in English, written and oral
Graphic design experience is highly valued (we currently use Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva)
Drive to nurture new relationships in our target markets
Desired but not required:
Familiar and comfortable maintaining a WordPress-hosted website
Experience developing press releases and blog posts
An established network of media contacts
Experience working with women’s s*xual health issues
Fluent in Swedish is a perk, but most of our work is in English
Working knowledge of Google Ad Grants and Ad Words
