Today SWEACC had a courtesy call from Mrs Hodan Toosh. She is from Somaliland (Somalia) and Works on various issues around special needs and disabilities in Sweden. She works, among other things, as family support to young people with special needs, as well as with parent trainers for social services in several municipalities and with personal assistance services (LSS). That is home care for people with special needs and disabilities in Sweden. She is also active in culture and information sharing Somali language in Sweden.

Healthcare is an interesting business and investment sector in East Africa for us in Sweden. We have had exciting conversations about how we can work with social services, focused on people with special needs in both Sweden and Somalia. Hodan had a lot of knowledge and information to share with me. Healthcare and innovation from Sweden to East Africa is a “hot topic”, working with special needs and disabilities maybe not so much yet but I am personally interested in finding ways forward to working with these issues in East Africa so if you want to meet and talk more about that. Welcome to reach out.

Until then, have a great summer vacation.

Today the Embassy of Tanzania in Sweden invited SWEACC to join them celebrating Kiswahili Day in Stockholm. This is a special day to highlight language skills from diaspora kids, East Africa music and food, and other culture from Swahili speaking Africa. It is not only Tanzania speaking Swahili, actually over 200 million people speak Swahili in Africa and many of them in East Africa.

Ambassador Mobhare Matinyi (representing Tanzania in Nordic) was our host and guest of honour former Swedish Minister. Welcome to follow Nyamko Sabuni new investment company in Africa, Sabuni & Partners. They already started to invest in East Africa and we hope to see more investment and trade between Sweden and East Africa. Perhaps we will arrange a new Investment Cluster event after summer break.

Thank you to whole Tanzania Team including the diaspora who made this excellent arrangement for us all.

Have a nice weekend. Uwe na wikendi njema.
