Your nervous system isn’t looking for perfection — it’s looking for safety.
So much of what we call “healing” is actually your body learning, slowly and gently, that it’s okay to soften. That it’s safe to exhale. That you don’t have to stay in survival mode.
Somatic therapy works with the body, not against it. Instead of overthinking or analyzing, we begin to listen — to sensations, breath, tension, and subtle shifts inside. Because your body already knows the way back to regulation… it just needs the right conditions.
Safety doesn’t have to be big or dramatic. It can start small:
• feeling your feet on the ground
• placing a hand on your heart
• noticing your breath without trying to change it
• orienting to your surroundings and reminding yourself: “I’m here, and I’m okay”
These are not small things — they are signals to your nervous system that you are no longer in danger.
Healing isn’t about forcing change. It’s about creating enough safety for your system to choose it.
And that begins, right here, in your body 🩷
