Lomi Lomi is one of the most profound forms of massage, a unique treatment derived from the Kahunas (wise priests) of Hawaii. It is a holistic tradition beyond simple massage, seeing the body as a door into other dimensions of the being and conducted with prayer and intention of ALOHA. Lomi Lomi is also called "Loving Touch" massage. It works gently yet deeply into the muscles with continuous, flo
wing strokes - using the forearms as well as the hands - giving the energy new direction and at the same time releasing blockages. It relaxes the entire being, assisting in a letting go of old beliefs, patterns and behaviors stored in the cells of our body. The recipient may experience a release and shift of emotions, with the healing effects of the massage continuing long after the massage is over. On the physical level stress and tension are relieved, blood and lymph flow assisted and the elimination of wastes and toxins are stimulated. I will hum or sing during the Lomi Lomi; the vibrating supporting the release of blockages. Also dancing and hula movements, combined with breath work are used to assist the energy flow both within me and recipient and keep the energy at a high level.
