Efter utredningen om legitimation för osteopater är frågan inte längre om – utan hur denna kompetens kan bli en del av vården.

What is the role of medical regulatory authorities?

One of the key strategic goals of the Osteopathic International Alliance is to emphasize the importance and necessity of global regulation for our profession.
In order to advance this objective, the osteopathic profession has representation within the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) via the OIA.

IAMRA works to facilitate mutual recognition of medical and health qualifications across different countries. Networks of regulators like IAMRA enable qualified osteopathic professionals to have their credentials more readily recognized when they wish to practice internationally.

Vad tycker våra patienter?

Patientrapporterade utfallsmått (PROMs) samlar systematiskt in information direkt från patienter som får osteopatisk vård, genom digitala frågeformulär om deras symtom, funktion och livskvalitet – både före och efter behandling.

National Council for Osteopathic Research i Storbritannien har använt PROMs i flera länder, där tusentals patienter har bidragit med data. Tidiga resultat visar hög patientnöjdhet och förbättring efter osteopatisk behandling.

Att lyssna på patienternas röst stärker professionens arbete för patientcentrerad vård, kvalitetsutveckling och transparent utvärdering av behandlingsresultat.

I ett av de europeiska PROMs-piloterna:
- 97 % av patienterna rapporterade förbättring inom en vecka
- 84 % rapporterade stor förbättring eller återhämtning efter s*x veckor
- Nästan 90 % uppgav mycket hög tillfredsställelse med osteopatisk vård

Det arbetar dygnet runt, utan paus – genom stress, vila, rörelse och återhämtning.
Men hjärtat är mer än en pump.
Det påverkas av vårt nervsystem, vår andning, vår hållning och vår livsstil. Stress, spänningar i bröstkorgen och begränsad rörlighet kan påverka hur vi andas – och andningen i sin tur påverkar hjärtats arbete.

Som osteopater ser vi kroppen som en helhet.
