I have helped clients who have specific sports related targets to clients who have lifelong diseases and want to make improvements in their all round capabilities. A common phrase I use is “injuries are as common as progress” is so relevant when actually dealing with an injury!

While the specific approach differs towards injuries, the habits and thinking behind dealing with, and overcoming injuries shouldn’t in my humble opinion.

I am happy to announce I will be re launching my PowerBox Boxing class to everyone in my network starting in 2026 due to popular demand.

PowerBox Boxing class involves a skill-based session where people will be taught the principals of boxing.

Unlike traditional boxing where you must stand and spar with a partner, individuals in class at PowerBox Boxing develop by using specific combinations from an offensive and defensive perspective utilising training formats such as shadow boxing, pad and bag work and specific drills which would teach individuals the true art of boxing.

These movements are then performed with repeated intensities and complexity, which over time will see peoples fitness and capabilities significantly improve.

As we wrap up the year (and wrap up far too many presents), I just wanted to send a huge thank you to all for being part of my journey this year.

Upon reflection of the year I have had I am privileged to say I have completed over 2500 + PT and Group Training hours. I have completed various educational courses on sleep and stress management alongside completing my advanced breath work qualification.

I have delivered various presentations to companies and clients around various wellness topics and have been fortunate to work with some very special people and companies who have centred their own health and employees health at the heart of their values.

Thank you so much for choosing to work with me. It has been a really action packed year with lots of development.

This Christmas, I hope you find moments of calm between the chaos, joy between the to-dos, and maybe even a quiet corner to hide with some godis 😊.

Rest, breathe, keep moving, and enjoy the festive treats without any guilt!

Joy is a nutrient and good for the soul too 😉.

A common discussion I have as a coach with athletes.

Me - “How was the conditioning session?”
Athlete - “Oh great, but I changed it and did it this way because it felt better”

As athletes or even as people we are driving towards goals, bettering ourselves, bettering our performance.

So why do so many people lack the ability to determine the difference between working hard or working smart? Why do people push and push themselves to limits without tracking or monitoring their progress? Why do people time and time again fatigue at their sport?

Typically speaking this is due to not having goals or a measurable target to work towards. They base their improvement on feeling even though there isn’t a tangible measurement tool in place.

I have highlighted some basic points that I recommend should be reviewed by people and coaches in order to help them understand how to better improve their conditioning performance.

1. Basic levels of education. A person that understands their purpose and reason why will take the time to understand what exactly they want to achieve and how to achieve it. Familiarise yourself with the processes you go through and its purpose.
2. No specificity around goals. Working blindly, no structure, no progressive overload just working for the sake of it.
3. Consistency. Adaptation requires habit, discipline and routine. Don’t be a one hit wonder!
4. No tracking systems to monitor a persons readiness. There are many factors into improving performance. We must be as prepared as possible to perform.
5. No tracking systems to monitor a persons progress. By preparing a plan of action and measuring you are not guessing. You are making informed decisions which will not only enhance performance but also build confidence.
6. Too much focus on output and effort rather than energy systems development.

Physiological adaptations are the body’s responses and long-term changes that occur as a result of regular exercise.
