1st Feb - The first Big Milestone reached, A Vision Turned Into Reality

After over a year of hard work, countless hours, laughter, sweat, and collective effort, Umea Kallbad sauna has finally found its home at Bölesholmarna. Built with love, crafted from recycled materials, and driven by a purpose bigger than ourselves.

From an idea to reality. From planning and building to launching Söndagsdoppet, where we now welcome hundreds of cold bathers every Sunday. A community has formed. Friendships have been born. Connections have been made.

And last weekend, it finally happened. The sauna arrived home. The entire Umea Kallbad team gave it their all, making the final touches on site. We built, we pushed through, then, at last, we celebrated. The first sauna session. The first Pommac toast. A moment of pure pride and gratitude.

This sauna is more than just a place for warmth and relaxation - it’s the heart of something greater. A symbol of what has been built along the way. A testament to passion, dedication, and the strength of a community. A symbol of love among humans. ♥️

This is the power of people uniting.
This is the power of building something together.
And this is only the beginning.

Söndagsdopp is on! ❄️🔥

Tomorrow marks the 11th week of our Sunday dips, now down at the lagoon on Bölesholmarna. Each week has brought something new—returning regulars, first-time kallbaders, and holiday visitors joining in.

Everyone’s welcome—no fuss, no booking. Just come along, bring your swimwear, a towel, and something warm for afterward.

The isvak will be ready, the fire waiting and we hope to see you there! ❄️🔥

From the deep freeze to heavy snow ❄️🔥

Last night, it was touching -20°C. The air was sharp, the stars bright, and yet, 15-20 hearty souls came together beside the Isvak. The fire flickered, snow crunched underfoot, and the cold bit hard. It felt simple, raw, and kind of magical, albeit bloody freezing.

This morning, the snow came down heavy, covering everything in a fresh white. By 10:00AM, a spirited crowd had gathered. The isvak came alive with laughter, steam rising from the water, and the firepit glowing. The snowfall didn’t seem to hold anyone back—it gave us a different kind of magic, a new canvas to dive into.

With Christmas Day just around the corner, we’re excited to share some big news about our sauna project—a step forward that will bring even more warmth and connection to our growing community. Stay tuned or come along for our Christmas Day swim, 10am 🧑‍🎄.
